Strange-Quark-Matter Stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
We investigate the implications of rapid rotation corresponding to the frequency of the new pulsar reported in the supernovae remnant SN1987A. It places very stringent conditions on the equation of state if the star is assumed to be bound by gravity alone. We find that the central energy density of the star must be greater than 13 times that of nuclear

Stellar model with non-zero strange quark mass ( $$m_s\ne 0$$ m s ≠ 0 ) and Mak–Harko density profile admitting observational results

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
This article describes the configuration of strange quark stars composed of three flavour quarks in hydrostatic equilibrium considering the energy density profile of Mak and Harko and non-zero strange quark mass ( $$m_s\ne {0}$$ m s ≠ 0 ).
