Assessing the Sustainability of Community‐Managed Irrigation Systems Using Multicriteria Analysis and Sustainability Indicators in Northern Ethiopia: A Holistic Approach

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 75, Issue 1, Page 330-343, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Reservoir‐based irrigation schemes (RBISs) have been developed to minimize the adverse effects of moisture stress and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in semi‐arid regions. However, many RBISs perform below expectations. A multistage expert elicitation approach and an indicator‐based Sustainability Assessment of Food and ...

Avian extra‐pair paternity in the last European primeval forest

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 338-346, February 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Primeval forests offer a reference baseline to understand the origins and evolution of mating systems, as their relatively undisturbed environment provides a glimpse into how ecological interactions and natural selection play out in their original context.

Prediction under Uncertainty on a Mature Field Prévision de production sous incertitude pour un champ mature

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2012
Reservoir engineering studies involve a large number of parameters with great uncertainties. To ensure correct future production, a comparison of possible scenarios in managing related uncertainties is needed.

La dynamique de l’adaptation d’industries. [PDF]

open access: yes
Cette recherche plaide en faveur de la prise en compte d’un système dans son ensemble pour aborder les problématiques d’adaptation. C’est en particulier le cas de l’adaptation d’industries à une rupture technologique qui est ici étudié.

Behavioural tactics across thermal gradients align with partial morphological divergence in brook charr

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 2, Page 359-376, February 2026.
Our study reveals that brook charr adopt distinct ‘warm’ and ‘cool’ behavioural tactics to balance foraging and thermal stress in stratified lakes. By linking fine‐scale thermal movements to morphology, we show how temperature‐driven habitat use promotes individual specialization and potential ecotypic divergence under climate change.

Can Widely Used Methods Be Turned Into eDNA Samplers for Ground‐Dwelling Arthropods? Insights From Two Pilot Studies in West European Salt Marshes

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 2, Page 164-177, February 2026.
This study evaluates bulk and eDNA metabarcoding via suction sampling and modified pitfall traps to monitor salt marsh arthropods. Suction sampling excelled in detecting overlooked taxa, whereas pitfalls were effective for Scarabaeinae. Results underscore the importance of adapting protocols to specific taxa and habitats and highlight the effects of ...
