On improvement in estimating population mean in stratified random sampling
Gupta and Shabbir 2 have suggested an alternative form of ratio-type estimators for estimating the population mean. In this paper, we obtained a corrected version for the mean square error (MSE) of the Gupta-Shabbir estimator, up to first order of ...

On stratified randomized response sampling
Model Assisted Statistics and Applications, 2005In this paper, we propose a new quantitative randomized response model based on Mangat and Singh [7] two-stage randomized response model. We derive the estimator of the sensitive variable mean, and show that our method is more efficient than other randomized response models suggested by Greenberg et al. [3] and Gupta et al. [4] estimators.

Family of Estimators of Population Mean Using Two Auxiliary Variables in Stratified Random Sampling
A general family of estimators, which use the information of two auxiliary variables in the stratified random sampling, is proposed to estimate the population mean of the variable under study.

A general class of estimators in stratified random sampling
Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2020In the present paper, a general class of estimators has been proposed for estimating the population mean of the study variable using auxiliary variable when the population mean of the auxiliary var...

Restricted stratified random sampling
International Journal of Mineral Processing, 1989Abstract A method of sampling is described which is a compromise between systematic sampling and stratified random sampling. It has less potential for bias than systematic sampling and also avoids the practical problems associated with stratified random sampling.

This paper deals with estimation of population median in simple and stratified random samplings by using auxiliary information. Auxiliary information is rarely used in estimating population median, although there have been many studies to estimate ...

On a Problem of Allocation of Sample Size in Stratified Random Sampling
Biometrical Journal, 1985AbstractIn this paper we shall consider the problem of judging how good an actual compromise allocation is compared to Neyman's optimum allocation for the case of stratified random sampling by obtaining a bound to the ratio of the corresponding variances.

In forestry practice we often have to deal with populations that can be split up into various sub-populations that in some respect or other are mutually different. Each subpopulation (called stratum, plural strata) in itself then is more homogeneous than the population as a whole. Generally, we wish to obtain information for each stratum separately.

Estimation of Population Means in Multivariate Stratified Random Sampling
Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2011In multivariate surveys where p (> 1) characteristics are defined on each unit of the population, the problem of allocation becomes complicated. In the present article, we propose a method to work out the compromise allocation in a multivariate stratified surveys.
