Crescimento de Pistia stratiotes em diferentes condições de temperatura e fotoperíodo Growth of Pistia stratiotes in different temperature and photoperiod regimes [PDF]

A steroid from Pistia stratiotes

open access: yesPhytochemistry, 1991
Abstract A novel stigmastane, 11α-hydroxy-24 S -ethyl-5α-cholest-22-en-3,6-dione, has been isolated from the aquatic plant Pistia stratiotes . The structure determination was accomplished by spectroscopic methods. A revision of the NMR assignments of an analogous cholestane sterol is also reported.

Acylglycosyl sterols from Pistia stratiotes

open access: yesPhytochemistry, 1991
Abstract Three new sitosterol acylglycosides have been isolated from the ethereal extract of the aquatic plant Pistia stratiotes . The structures sitosterol-3- O -[2′,4′- O -diacetyl-6′- O -sterayl]-β- d -glucopyranoside, sitosterol-3- O -[2′- O -stearyl]-β- d -xylopyranoside and sitosterol-3- O -[4′- O -stearyl]-β- d -xylopyranoside have been ...

Responses in Plant Growth and Root Exudates of Pistia stratiotes under Zn and Cu Stress [PDF]

open access: yesPlants
At present, the situation regarding heavy metal pollution in aquatic environments is becoming more and more serious. The bioaccumulation of heavy metals in aquatic plants causes obvious phytotoxicity, which can also induce secondary pollution in the ...

Characterization of the complete chloroplast genome sequence of Pistia stratiotes (Araceae) and its phylogenetic implications

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2020
Pistia stratiotes is an invasive aquatic weed in South China. In this study, the first complete chloroplast (cp) genome of P. stratiotes was reported and phylogenetic analysis was conducted with Araceae species based on the cp genome sequences.

The Importance of Thermally Abnormal Waters for Bioinvasions—A Case Study of Pistia stratiotes

open access: yesDiversity, 2023
Thermally abnormal waters represent safe sites for alien invasive plants requiring warmer conditions than provided by the ambient temperatures in the temperate zone. Therefore, such safe sites are frequently inhabited by tropical and sub-tropical plants.
