Development of the straw biochar returning concept in China
Biochar produced from straw has been shown to improve soil physicochemical properties. This review introduces the fundamental concepts, the broad applications, and underlying theory of straw biochar returning. Current developments in biochar industry and the production practices prevalent among enterprises in China are critiques.

The impact of straw return and other factors on soil nitrogen: A meta-analysis
【Objective】 Straw return not only improves soil fertility but also soil structure and soil health. In this paper we systematically analyze the effects of different biotic and abiotic factors on effect of straw return on soil nitrogen.

Stabilization of Returned Dairy Products by Ensiling with Straw and Molasses for Animal Feeding [PDF]
Returned dairy products which are transferred to landfills might add to the environmental pollution. Such products have a high nutritional value for ruminants, but they should be stabilized to enable their use as cattle feed. The purpose of the current study was to examine stabilization of returned dairy products by ensiling in combinations with straw ...

Response of Microbial Recovery Rate to Straw Return after Calcium Cyanamide Soil Disinfection
At present, returning vegetable straw in situ is an effective measure to solve environmental pollution and improve soil properties. However, the direct return of straw to the field can reduce the release rate of soil organic matter and cause serious ...

Effects of Deep Tillage and Straw Returning on Soil Microorganism and Enzyme Activities [PDF]
Two field experiments were conducted for two years with the aim of studying the effects of deep tillage and straw returning on soil microorganism and enzyme activity in clay and loam soil. Three treatments, (1) conventional tillage (CT), shallow tillage and straw returning; (2) deep tillage (DT), deep tillage and straw returning; and (3) deep tillage ...

Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.

Inoculating microbial inoculants to speed up the decomposition of returning straw is currently a hot topic. Meanwhile, the soil moisture content (SMC) could change the diversity, abundance, and metabolism of the soil microbial community structure, which affects the straw degradation rate under the straw returning condition.
