Nano Carbon‐mesh with Excellent Bonding Performance via Hydro‐cage De‐shielding Strategy
A hydro‐cage de‐shielding strategy transforms cellulose‐based films into a dragonfly‐wing‐like nano carbon‐mesh (NCM) adhesive through instantaneous carbonization‐polymerization. The resulting NCM‐plywood achieves exceptional wet shear strength (1.24 MPa at 63°C), exceeding Class II plywood standards, and retains 0.73 MPa after boiling‐water cycles ...

Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.

Correcting the apparent priming effect resolves systematic biases in Asian rice fertilizer nitrogen accounting. Net soil retention drops below 7%, while 48% of fertilizer escapes, inflicting US$98.53 billion in annual reactive‐nitrogen damages. High‐resolution mapping uncovers N‐risk archetypes across 42% of the rice area, delivering a spatially ...

INFLUENCE OF COMPOST, N-MINERAL AND HUMIC ACID ON YIELD AND CHMICAL COMPOSITION OF WHEAT PLANTS [PDF]
Two field experiments were carried out at the experimental farm of El-Ismailia Agric. Research station, during two successive winter seasons of 2007/2008- 2008/2009 to study the effect of different levels of nitrogen fertilizers 0,25, 50, 75 and 100kg N ...

Traceability of Agri‐Food Products: The Key to Conscious Trade
ABSTRACT Globalization and growing concerns about sustainability have led to improvements in product traceability, quality, and sustainability. Traceability contributes to environmental protection and supports sustainable development by fostering transparency in agricultural practices and encouraging the responsible use of resources.

The inherent complexity of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin contributes to the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic biomass, resulting in a low conversion efficiency and high cost of bioethanol conversion. Pretreatment methods that disrupt the plant cell

Steam Explosion Conditions Highly Influence the Biogas Yield of Rice Straw [PDF]
Straws are agricultural residues that can be used to produce biomethane by anaerobic digestion. The methane yield of rice straw is lower than other straws. Steam explosion was investigated as a pretreatment to increase methane production. Pretreatment conditions with varying reaction times (12–30 min) and maximum temperatures (162–240 °C) were applied.

Farmers’ Protests in Germany: Media Coverage and Types of Bias
ABSTRACT The German farmers’ protests of 2024 sparked widespread media coverage and public debate. Yet, media coverage was not always positive, reflecting the media's attention‐seeking and selective focus. Occurrences of farmers blocking media outlets reflected distrust in how their concerns were portrayed.

Evaluation of Rice Straw Yield, Fibre Composition and Collection Under Mediterranean Conditions
Rice straw remains almost unutilised in the majority of cases and is usually burned. Data on rice residue production under European conditions are extremely limited.
