Stray losses in squirrel-cage induction motors

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1964
The correct understanding of the physical origin of stray losses is essential if machines are to be designed with minimum additional losses.

Stray Load Loss Test on Induction Machines

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1934
A loading-back test has been used for the determination of the stray load losss in polyphase induction machines. This test, which was found to have a high degree of accuracy, enables the various losses to be separated. The application of the test is simple and convenient.

Stray load loss tests on induction machines — II

Electrical Engineering, 1936
A new test method is described for the determination of stray load loss in induction machines. By application to given machines, this method is shown to have an exceptionally high degree of accuracy. Values of stray load loss for the same machines are obtained by other recognized methods and results compared.

Stray-Load Losses in Polyphase Induction Maclines

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Part III: Power Apparatus and Systems, 1959
The total stray-load loss of a polyphase induction machine of the squirrel-cage type is given by the formula: WL = WC + WE + WSL1 + WSL2 + WZ + WB + WK (13) where the several items, except Wc, are given by equations 1, 7, 6, 9, 10, and 12. The sum of WE and Wc can be determined separately from the other losses by measuring the input to the stator when ...

Experimental and simulative investigations on stray capacitances and stray inductances of power modules

2017 19th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE'17 ECCE Europe), 2017
This paper presents different experimental methods for measuring parasitic capacitances and inductances of direct copper bond (DBC) based power semiconductor modules. The found parasitics are compared with finite element simulations to evaluate their accuracy. A very good match of the simulated and measured stray capacitances is found.

Stray losses in squirrel-cage induction motors

Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1963
An article based on a paper with the full title 'Stray losses in squirrel-cage induction motors: validity of the reverse-rotation test method', which is published this month in the Proceedings. The paper has been reserved for reading at a meeting of the Power Division at Savoy Place on a date yet to be arranged in 1964. Dr.

Investigation on stray inductance of SiC MOSFET module

2017 14th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting: International Forum on Wide Bandgap Semiconductors China (SSLChina: IFWS), 2017
For the past years, high power SiC MOSFET module has been widely applied in industrial drive, power transmission application and high power energy conversion for its superior switching performances. The performance of a commercial available type of three-phase bridge package is investigated to figure out the impact of stray inductance.
