Soft Hardware, Flowing Software: Reconfigurable Microfluidics for Adaptable Chemical Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable microfluidic platform based on soft, photo‐printable, and chemically erasable hydrogel structures printed and erased in situ is used to control flow routing, mixing, chemical patterning, and even chemical computing. Using hardware to control chemical computations decouples logic function from molecular composition, demonstrated via ...

Decimation Attack of Stream Ciphers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
his report presents a new attack called Decimation Attack of most Stream Ciphers. It exploits the property that multiple clocking (or equivalently d-th decimation) of a LFSR can simulate the behavior of many other LFSRs of possible shorter length. It yields then significant improvements of all the previous known correlation and fast correlation attacks.

Applications of finite field computation to cryptology : extension field arithmetic in public key systems and algebraic attacks on stream ciphers

open access: yes, 2008
In this digital age, cryptography is largely built in computer hardware or software as discrete structures. One of the most useful of these structures is finite fields.

Design of High‐Energy Anode for All‐Solid‐State Lithium Batteries–A Model with Borohydride‐Based Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study proposes a function‐sharing anode design to enable nonmetallic lithium insertion while maintaining intimate interfacial contact with the solid‐state electrolyte. A combination of lithium‐compatible and conformable borohydrides, highly conformable indium metal, less‐graphitized acetylene black, and a layer of highly graphitized massive ...

A New Practical Cube Attack via Recovering Numerous Superpolys

open access: yesIACR Transactions on Symmetric Cryptology
Cube attack is one of the most powerful approaches for recovering keys of stream ciphers. Practical cube attacks generate several superpolys first and solve the system constructed by these superpolys afterward.

An analysis of the RC4 family of stream ciphers against\ud algebraic attacks

open access: yes, 2010
To date, most applications of algebraic analysis and\ud attacks on stream ciphers are on those based on lin-\ud ear feedback shift registers (LFSRs). In this paper, we\ud extend algebraic analysis to non-LFSR based stream\ud ciphers.

Conductive Additives for Next‐Generation Batteries: Emphasizing the Potential of Bio‐Derived 3D Carbon Architectures at Electrode–Electrolyte Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
3D conductive frameworks can maintain continuous electron transport, mechanical stability, and interfacial integrity, helping next‐generation batteries operate more efficiently. This Review examines their relevance to Si anodes, all‐solid‐state batteries, and dry‐processed electrodes, and highlights bio‐derived carbons as sustainable, structurally ...

Analysis and design of modern stream ciphers (invited paper)

open access: yes, 2003
Summary form only given. When designing symmetric ciphers, security and performance are of utmost importance. When selecting a symmetric encryption algorithm, the first choice is whether to choose a block cipher or a stream cipher.

Algebraic Attacks on Stream Ciphers

open access: yes, 2004
. Due to their eciency, stream ciphers are widely used in practice (e.g., mobile phones) to ensure the secrecy of transmitted data. Modern cryptographic techniques made it possible to improve their resistance against well known attacks like correlation ...

Understanding Operando Water Management in Hydroxide‐Exchange‐Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Effective water management is vital for high‐performance hydroxide‐exchange‐membrane fuel cells. Using a custom water‐flux station, this study quantifies how membrane thickness, microporous layers, and operating conditions dictate internal water transport.
