Wave generation and particle transport in the plasma sheet and boundary layer [PDF]

open access: yes
The one and two ion beam instability was considered as a possible explanation for the observations of broadband electrostatic noise in the plasma sheet region of the geomagnetic tail. When only hot streaming plasma sheet boundary layer ions were present,

Radiation Spectral Synthesis of Relativistic Filamentation

open access: yes, 2010
Radiation from many astrophysical sources, e.g. gamma-ray bursts and active galactic nuclei, is believed to arise from relativistically shocked collisionless plasmas.

The Tumor‐to‐Endothelial Transfer of FTO Promotes Vascular Remodeling and Metastasis in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated omics analysis of matched primary and liver metastatic NPC tumors reveals a unique NOTCH1+ CSC subpopulation exhibiting enhanced stemness properties and tumorigenic capacity. With in vitro and in vivo assays, exosomal transfer of tumor‐derived FTO from NOTCH1+ cells to the endothelium promotes vascular permeability and metastatic potential ...

On a nonlinear state of the electromagnetic ion/ion cyclotron instability [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2000
We have investigated the nonlinear properties of the electromagnetic ion/ion cyclotron instability (EMIIC) by means of hybrid simulations (macroparticle ions, massless electron fluid).

Forming Planetesimals by Gravitational Instability: I. The Role of the Richardson Number in Triggering the Kelvin-Helmholtz Instability

open access: yes, 2010
Gravitational instability (GI) of a dust-rich layer at the midplane of a gaseous circumstellar disk is one proposed mechanism to form planetesimals, the building blocks of rocky planets and gas giant cores.

Balanced Expression of the Diiron Oxygenase BioE Is Essential for Biotin Homeostasis in Elizabethkingia meningoseptica

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BioE is a new diiron oxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of long‐chain acyl groups into pimeloyl thioester, initiating biotin synthesis. The overexpression of EmBioE disrupts lipid metabolic homeostasis, requiring repressor BioL to maintain a balance between long‐chain fatty acids and biotin synthesis.
