Fatigue Life Analysis of the Submarine Rudder Stock Mechanism at Arctic Low Temperatures
Under the action of Arctic low temperatures and long-term alternating loads, the fatigue life of the submarine rudder stock mechanism is severely tested.

Structural Strength and Fatigue Strength Analysis of Roller Arm
The cone reamer is used for underhole reaming, mainly through the impact crushing and cutting of teeth to complete rock breaking, easy to produce vibration. At the same time, the underground topography is complex and rock materials are changing. Therefore, the force of the cone reamer is complex and easy to damage.

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Seismic Fragility Assessment of Local and Global Failures in Low-rise Non-ductile Existing RC Buildings: Empirical Shear-Axial Modelling vs. ASCE/SEI 41 Approach [PDF]
The brittle behavior of older non-ductile reinforced concrete buildings such as shear-axial failure in columns can cause lateral instability or gravity collapse. Hence, the attempt is to assess the collapse potential through fragility curves.

ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

The Shear Strength of Granular Materials with Dispersed and Non-Dispersed Oversized Particles [PDF]
Soils containing dispersed and non-dispersed large particles (greater than # 4 sieve) form part of many engineered fills, glacial tills, debris flows, and residual soil deposits.

The concept of strength in the analysis of verbal behavior [PDF]
A textual analysis of the concept of strength is presented, based on patterns of its occurrence in the book Verbal Behavior (Skinner, 1957). A manual count was conducted of all instances of the word "strength," and closely related forms. Rates were then plotted and interpreted as revealing the kinds of situations where strength is most relevant ...

The strength of compactness in Computability Theory and Nonstandard Analysis [PDF]
Compactness is one of the core notions of analysis: it connects local properties to global ones and makes limits well-behaved. We study the computational properties of the compactness of Cantor space $2^{\mathbb{N}}$ for uncountable covers. The most basic question is: how hard is it to compute a finite sub-cover from such a cover of $2^{\mathbb{N ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
