Local Density of the Bose Glass Phase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We study the Bose-Hubbard model in the presence of on-site disorder in the canonical ensemble and conclude that the local density of the Bose glass phase behaves differently at incommensurate filling than it does at commensurate one.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Dependence of Levitation Force on Frequency of an Oscillating Magnetic Levitation Field in a Bulk YBCO Superconductor

open access: yes, 2012
The dependence of the magnetic field strength required for levitation of a melt textured, single domain YBCO superconductor disc on the frequency of the current generating the levitating magnetic field has been investigated.

LDA-Based Topic Strength Analysis

open access: yesComputing and Informatics, 2017
Topic strength is an important hotspot in topic research. The evolution of topic strength not only indicates emerging new topics, but also helps us to determine whether a topic will produce some fluctuation of topic strength over time. Thus, topic strength analysis can provide significant findings in public opinion monitoring and user personalization ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Optimization Design of Key Parameters of Forming Parts of an Involute Plunger Type Biomass Ring Die Pelletizing Machine by DEM-FEM Coupled Modeling

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
Due to the complex motion state of biomass raw materials in the granulation process of involute plunger biomass ring mold granulator, it is difficult to analyze by use of a linear mechanical model.

Biomechanical Computed Tomography analysis (BCT) for clinical assessment of osteoporosis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The surgeon general of the USA defines osteoporosis as "a skeletal disorder characterized by compromised bone strength, predisposing to an increased risk of fracture." Measuring bone strength, Biomechanical Computed Tomography analysis (BCT), namely ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...
