Abstract The landing of Philae, the lander of ESA's ROSETTA-mission, on November 12th 2014 on Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, was planned as a descent with passive landing activating a damper system and anchoring by harpoons at touch-down. The lander was not fixed to the ground at touch-down due to failing harpoons.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Tensile strength analysis of midpontic soldering

A total of 120 three-unit fixed partial dentures were made by using a latex mold to produce uniform wax patterns. Four groups were used to compare the tensile strength of connectors with interproximal solder, midpontic vertical solder, midpontic diagonal solder, and a control of one-piece castings.
