Strengths and weaknesses of hospital standardised mortality ratios
BMJ, 2010Hospital standardised mortality ratios are fairly easy to produce and, as the example of Mid Staffordshire shows, can help identify hospitals with poor performance.

In this study, we performed 26 undrained triaxial compression and 32 constant-volume ring shear tests on two clean sands and one silty sand. We then used these results to evaluate the critical states, and shear strength ratios mobilized at yield and at critical state. We obtained yield strength ratios that ranged from 0.16 to 0.32 and from 0.20 to 0.35

Evaluation of the shearing strength ratio for bolts with defined strength grades

On the reliability of the strength retention ratio for estimating the strength of weathered rocks
Engineering Geology, 2016Abstract This technical note examines the validity of the strength retention ratio (R s ) as a criterion for estimating the strength of weathered rocks. Although R s has been widely used for classification purposes, it seems to significantly underestimate the strength of slightly weathered (SW) rocks.

What is normal isokinetic shoulder strength or strength ratios? A systematic review [PDF]
Purpose: To systematically review the literature regarding isokinetic testing to identify values for isokinetic shoulder strength and agonist/antagonist ratios in the general population which may be used as reference values when assessing, planning and implementing shoulder rehabilitation.

Camera Assisted Received Signal Strength Ratio Algorithm for Indoor Visible Light Positioning
IEEE Communications Letters, 2019A novel camera assisted received signal strength ratio (CA-RSSR) positioning algorithm is proposed for visible light positioning (VLP) systems. The basic idea of CA-RSSR is to utilize visual information captured by the camera first, to analyze the ...
