Substructure strengthening in dispersion-strengthened nickel alloys
Metallurgical Transactions, 1971Pure nickel, 80 pct Ni-20 pct Cr, 98 pct Ni-2 pct ThO2, and 78 pct Ni-20 pct Cr-2 pct ThO2 were studied in a wide range of thermomechanical conditions to identify strengthening mechanisms in the dispersion-strengthened materials. An X-ray line profile technique was used to determine the distribution of lattice strain, the crystallite domain size and ...

Strengthening family ‘interference’
Journal of Advanced Nursing, 1984This paper examines the phenomenon of family ‘interference’ in the health care of a sick member from a new angle. The ‘interfering’ behaviours are located within the context of the family's evolving relationships with health care providers. The authors argue that the behaviours are an understandable product of the family's disillusionment and ...

Strengthened invex and perturbations
Mathematical Methods of Operations Research, 1996Summary: If the strengthened invex property holds for a constrained minimization problem, then a Karush-Kuhn-Tucker point is a strict minimum. The strict minimum property is preserved under small perturbations of the problem. This allows sufficient conditions to be given for a minimax, starting from Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions.
