The cell wall glycopolymers of three strains of Streptomyces albus and the type strain of Streptomyces pathocidini were investigated. The structures of the glycopolymers were established using a combination of chemical and NMR spectroscopic methods. The cell wall of S. albus subsp.

Genes encoding extracellular beta-lactamases (EC 3.5.2.6) of Gram-positive Streptomyces badius, Streptomyces cacaoi and Streptomyces fradiae have been cloned into Streptomyces lividans. The beta-lactamase gene of S. badius was initially isolated on a 7 kb BamHI fragment and further located on a 1300 bp DNA segment.

Description of Streptomyces phaeofaciens SM6 Cells are Gram-stain-positive and filamentous. Colonies are filamentous, umbonate and cream colored after incubation for 3 days at 30℃. Positive for nitrate reduction; but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis β ...

Actinomycetes (Streptomyces lividans)
2006Agrobacterium tumefaciens is best known for its ability to transform plants by delivering the T-DNA that is processed and transferred from the resident Ti plasmid to the recipient plant cells. Less well known is the capacity of this Gram-negative bacterium to transfer its T-DNA into fungi and actinomycetes.

Although some Streptomyces species share identical 16S rRNA gene sequences, their taxonomic relationships have not been adequately re-examined. Type strains of Streptomyces javensis, Streptomyces yogyakartensis and Streptomyces violaceusniger share the same 16S rRNA gene sequence. This study aimed to determine whether S. javensis, S. yogyakartensis and
