Synthesis, Characterization, and Recyclability of a Functional Jute-Based Geopolymer Composite

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2021
This study describes the properties of geopolymer composites reinforced with bidirectional jute fibers. Their flexural strength is 12 MPa, four times higher than the strength of non-reinforced reference geopolymers.

A new slurry-based method of preparation of specimens of sand containing fines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A new method of specimen reconstitution is presented that is appropriate for element testing of sands containing either plastic or nonplastic fines. The method allows reconstitution of homogeneous, saturated specimens of sands containing fines whose ...

Development of a method for calculating the degree of use of the plasticity resource (DUPR) when rolling on a new continuous mill

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2021
A new design of a continuous mill is proposed in the article. A method has been developed for calculating the degree of use of the plasticity resource when rolling thin slabs on a new continuous mill using the data obtained in the MSC Super Forge ...

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.
