Influence of sulfuric acid corrosion on concrete stress-strain relationship under uniaxial compression

Measurement, 2021
This study aims to provide some references on understanding the uniaxial compression behaviors of concrete corroded by sulfuric acid. Six groups of concrete cylinder specimens were immersed in sulfuric acid solution with pH≈0.95 for different days.

Differential ultrasonic stress–strain measurements

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1999
Fatigue tests are often encumbered by lack of the specimen’s exact length due to mechanical grip effects and by environmental noise factors. Such issues may be mitigated when differential measurements are undertaken between consecutive data states. Our principle-monitoring tool is an ultrasonic pulse-echo process where the primary and secondary echoes ...

Measuring the Biaxial Stress-Strain Characteristics of Human Sclera

ASME 2007 Summer Bioengineering Conference, 2007
Glaucoma is a common ocular disease that causes irreversible loss of vision. Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) is the primary risk factor for developing glaucoma. It is believed that increased IOP causes mechanical strain on the glial cells that support the retinal ganglion cell axons and thereby causes ganglion cell apoptosis [1,2].

Effect of Nonuniform Stresses on Measured DSS Stress‐Strain Behavior

Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, 1994
This paper presents results of a laboratory investigation of the influence of the nonuniform stresses imposed by the Geonor direct simpleshear (DSS) apparatus on measured stressstrain behavior.

Stress-strain hysteresis cycle measured by a differential self-mixing interferometer

2006 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics and 2006 Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference, 2006
An instrument for non-contact measurement of differential displacements is realized based on two self-mixing laser diode interferometers. Stress-strain hysteresis cycles in micro- and gross-slip regimes of two metal samples kept into contact are measured.

Cyclic stress-strain measurement tests of Sn3.5Ag0.75Cu solder joint

Proceedings of the 4th International Symposium on Electronic Materials and Packaging, 2002., 2003
For an accurate measurement of the material behavior of solder joints, a test method was established to calibrate the machine stiffness. Also another new optical experimental technique to measure the deformation across a solder joint is proposed. The test method uses the dual microscope that can measure the relative deformation of two adjacent regions.

Identification of process-induced residual stress/strain distribution in thick thermoplastic composites based on in situ strain monitoring using optical fiber sensors

Journal of composite materials, 2019
In thick thermoplastic composite laminates, nonuniform temperature distribution arises in the through-thickness direction during high-rate manufacturing processes. This causes the so-called thermal skin-core effect.

Measures of Finite Strain and Stress-Strain Relations

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1960
Ordinarily, stress-strain relation of Lagrange's representation is written in terms of Lagrange's representation of stress σ i j and the Love measure e i j L . From the above relation, we can derive Reiner's equation in terms of Euler's representation of stress T λµ and the Green measure e λµ β .
