Anticoagulation and stress-induced cardiomyopathy
Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis, 2018Stress-induced cardiomyopathy (SCM), is a reversible cardiomyopathy characterized by transient systolic dysfunction following an acute physiologic stress. Thromboembolism occurs at a high frequency in patients with intracardiac thrombus secondary to SCM, with one systematic review reporting a rate of 33.3%.

Stress-induced cardiomyopathy: A review
European Journal of Internal Medicine, 2007In clinical practice it is essential to bear stress-induced cardiomyopathy (SICMP) in mind as it is an insufficiently known cardiac pathology that mimics acute coronary syndromes (ACS), often with signs of cardiac failure. In the chronic phase, it poses differential diagnostic problems with regard to coronary artery pathology.

Mechanisms of stress (Takotsubo) cardiomyopathy
Nature Reviews Cardiology, 2010Stress cardiomyopathy, also referred to as Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, transient apical ballooning or broken heart syndrome, is a disorder associated with transient left ventricular dysfunction. Symptoms include acute chest pain and dyspnea accompanied by electrocardiographic changes, such as ST-segment elevation and T-wave inversions, minimal elevation ...

Stress cardiomyopathy (SC) or stress-induced cardiomyopathy or Takotsubo syndrome or broken heart syndrome is an acute and usually reversible heart failure syndrome. The term Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) was first introduced when Sato et al. published their report on five cases in a 1990 Japanese medical textbook. The first case of TTS was recorded in 1983

Coughing‐induced stress cardiomyopathy
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2010AbstractStress cardiomyopathy is described as acute myocardial infarction provoked by a stressful event with evidence of a significant focal wall motion but with little or no significant coronary artery disease. In this case report, a particularly bad bout of coughing resulted in chest pressure, troponin release, and evidence of antero‐apical ...
