Stress analysis of the membrane structure in the shape of cone [PDF]
The paper is focused on the static analysis of the cone, which is one of the basic shapes used for membrane structures. These structures are specific by their ability to transmit only tensile forces. Pressure forces in the membrane construction may cause

Müller glial and microglial responses coupled to recovery of cone photoreceptors following limited cone ablation in zebrafish retina [PDF]
Zebrafish can spontaneously regenerate retinal neurons after acute damage. Ablation and regeneration of retinal neurons can be achieved in transgenic zebrafish with cell-selective expression of bacterial nitroreductase (NTR/nfsb) upon exposure to pro ...

The Thioredoxin Encoded by the Rod-Derived Cone Viability Factor Gene Protects Cone Photoreceptors Against Oxidative Stress [PDF]
Rod-derived cone viability factor long (RdCVFL) is an enzymatically active thioredoxin encoded by the nucleoredoxin-like-1 (Nxnl1) gene. The second product of the gene, RdCVF, made by alternative splicing is a novel trophic factor secreted by rods that protects cones in rodent models of retinitis pigmentosa, the most prevalent inherited retinal disease.

Free Surface Effects on Normal Stress Measurements in Cone and Plate Flow
The effects of free surface shape on normal stress difference measurements in cone and plate flow are investigated. The analysis shows that the stress field is significantly altered by deviations of the free surface from an ideal (spherical) shape.

Stress History of Soils from Cone Penetration Tests
Stress history is an important measurement in soils as it affects strength, stability, stiffness, and flow characteristics. The evaluation of the in-situ preconsolidation stress, or effective yield stress, from the results of piezocone penetration tests ...

RESTRICTIONS ON STRESS COMPONENTS IN THE TOP OF ROUND CONE [PDF]
Summary: The stress state at a vertex of homogeneous or composite cone is studied using the concept of the point of deformed body considered as an elementary volume contractible to this point. Elementary volume represents an assembly of continuum points with a linear characteristic dimension equal to that of representative volume element of the ...
