Analytical and experimental investigation of the relationship between spread and yield stress in the mini-cone test for cemented tailings backfill

Construction and Building Materials, 2020
The slump test is used to characterize the flow properties of mine backfill. However, the slump is not as easy to measure as spread in the condition of high or low slurry concentration.

Experimental study on a Mach cone and trailing Rayleigh waves in a stress wave chasing running crack problem

Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics, 2019
This paper focuses on a blast-induced Mach cone followed by trailing Rayleigh waves during blast stress waves chasing a running crack in an epoxy plate, using the photoelasticity method and high-speed photography.

Stress concentration in cone–cylinder intersection

International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 2001
Abstract The finite element method and shell theory were employed to investigate cone–cylinder shell intersections. The developed special-purpose computer program Sais (stress analysis in intersecting shells) was used for elastic stress analysis of branch connections. A comparison of calculated results with experimental data is presented.

Cone-and-Plate Shear Stress Adhesive Test

Journal of Adhesion, 1987
Abstract A test geometry is described which will produce a state of essentially pure constant shear stress in an adhesive bond. The adherends are fabricated from two cylindrical elements, one with a convex conical end section and the other with a flat plate end section.

Influence of cable terminal stress cone install incorrectly

2009 IEEE 9th International Conference on the Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials, 2009
The electric field intensity around the power cable terminal is computed based on the finite element method when the power cable is loaded on the 110kV constant voltage source. If the power cable terminal is installed correctly, the stress cone covers the outer semi-conducting layers 60mm.

Dimensional measurement of anti-stress cone of HV cable joints based on 3D point cloud

Measurement science and technology, 2023
To solve the problem of automatic measurement of anti-stress cone of high voltage cable joints, a measurement algorithm based on 3D point cloud is proposed. Firstly, denoising and coordinate adjustment of point cloud of a cable joint are realized.

Stress analysis of functionally graded saturated porous rotating thick truncated cone

Mechanics based design of structures and machines, 2020
In this article, static response of functionally graded saturated porous rotating truncated cone is investigated for the first time. Three different patterns are considered for porosity distribution along with the thickness of the cone, which are ...

A Cone Penetrometer System for Measuring Cone Index and Stress Relaxation

Transactions of the ASAE, 1989
ABSTRACT Aportable computer controlled cone penetrometer was designed for making cone index and relaxed cone index measurements. The new penetrometer is DC powered and was interfaced to an IBM personal computer. Software was used for controlling the penetrometer motor speed (penetration rate), and sampling cone depth, cone index and stress relaxation ...
