Compressive behavior and energy absorption capacity of unconstrained and constrained open-cell aluminum foams

open access: yesAdvanced Composites Letters, 2020
In practical engineering applications, while the open-cell aluminum foam as crash absorber is filled to the hollow structures, its deformation occurs under constrained stress boundaries. The experimental work was conducted to examine the effect of radial

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

The Theoretical Study on Temperature Effect of Super-length Concrete Structures and its Corresponding Engineering Measures

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
The super-length concrete structure isn’t easily deformed under the action of temperature difference due to various constraints. It is easy to be cracked because of the excessive temperature stress. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of various
