Correction of Surface Tensile Stress in In-situ Stress Field Inversion Using the Virtual Measuring Point Method

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract Surface tensile stress anomalies frequently arise during in-situ stress field inversion via multiple linear regression, compromising result reliability. To resolve this, we propose a novel method integrating distributed surface virtual measuring points with zero stress components.

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

Models of stress at mid-ocean ridges and their offsets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This thesis aims to investigate the stresses at mid-ocean ridge offsets, and particularly at the particular class of offsets represented by oceanic microplates. Amongthese, the Easter microplate is one of the best surveyed.

Structure‐Guided Balancing of Ambipolar Transport Enables Symmetric Switching in Heterojunction Bilayer Organic Transistor Inverters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Balancing the spatially separated p‐ and n‐type transport pathways in heterojunction‐bilayer OTFTs enables symmetric inverter switching (VM ≈ 0.5VDD), whereas discrete integration of unipolar OTFTs gives polarity‐dependent and resistive responses. ABSTRACT High inverter performance in ambipolar organic electronics requires balanced channel strengths ...

Three-dimensional geoacoustic perturbative inverse technique for the shallow ocean water column [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
textThis work focuses on developing an inversion scheme to estimate water-column sound-speed fields in three dimensions. The inversion scheme is based on a linearized perturbative technique which utilizes estimates of modal travel times.

A Magneto‐Mechanically Activated Nerve Guidance Conduit Promotes Peripheral Nerve Regeneration via TIMP1‐Mediated Membrane Tension Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a magneto‐mechanical strategy that incorporates FP@MSCs into an aligned PCL/GelMA nerve guidance conduit. Magnetic stimulation increases membrane tension in FP@MSCs, triggering cytoskeletal remodeling, Schwann cell‐like differentiation, and TIMP1 secretion. TIMP1 activates ITGB1/CD63–FAK signaling in NE‐4C cells, increasing membrane

An hybrid Imaging-Inversion method applied to potential fields data

open access: yes, 2016
The aim of this thesis is to implement an integrated approach of potential fields data analysis, which combines the most employed inversion techniques (Li & Oldenburg, 1996; Pilkington, 1997; Zhdanov, 2002; Fedi et al., 2005) with multi-scale imaging ...
