Mechanism of Solid Solution‐Driven Texture Induced by Ag Doping in YBCO Superconductor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ag‐doped YBCO with a designed concentration gradient is produced by dual‐material co‐extrusion and freeze‐drying. During annealing, Ag+ ions diffuse into Y123, substituting for Cu(1) and inducing c‐axis relaxation. This leads to the formation of [001]‐oriented YBCAO, creating a coherent interface that templates the textured growth of Y123. Consequently,

Step energies and equilibrium shape of strained monolayer islands

open access: yes, 2014
Using a simple atomistic model of anharmonic nearest-neighbors interaction, we have calculated the step energies of strained hexagonal monolayer islands. These have been found to decrease with the absolute value of the misfit due to the strain relaxation

Review: Insight on Porous Carbon Positive Electrode for Sodium‐Ion Capacitors: Interplay Between Synthesis, Properties, and Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sodium ion capacitor (SIC) is currently constrained by the low discharge capacity of commercial activated carbon as positive electrode material. This review provides a holistic summary of research efforts on alternative porous carbon materials for SIC. Image created by the authors with www.biorender.com.

Extending Carrier Diffusion via Interfacial Dielectric Shielding for Operationally Stable Perovskite/TOPCon Tandem Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐dielectric niobium oxide (NbOX) electron‐selective contact is introduced to modulate the perovskite/C60 interface in perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. By shrinking the defect capture radius and chemically passivating Pb‐related defects, NbOX extends carrier diffusion length and optimizes energy‐level alignment, enabling both high efficiency

Interplay of Crystallization and Amorphous Spinodal Decomposition During Thermal Annealing of Organic Photoactive Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase‐Field simulations are carried out to elucidate nanomorphology formation mechanisms in organic photoactive layers under thermal annealing. The predicted bulk heterojunction structures are in excellent agreement with Scanning Electron Microscopy measurements.

Microstructure Evolution and Property Enhancement of Hot-Rolled 5083 Aluminum Alloy During Homogenization Annealing

open access: yesCrystals
The 5083 aluminum alloy is widely used in marine engineering due to its excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. To address microstructural defects that may arise during hot rolling, homogenization annealing is employed as a critical post ...

Defect‐Rich 2D Layered Double Hydroxides Enhance Sonodynamic Antibacterial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops defect‐rich ultrathin ZnCuW‐LDH nanosheets (DR‐ZnCuW‐LDH) via acid etching. DR‐ZnCuW‐LDH exhibits fourfold enhanced US‐triggered ROS production due to oxygen defects and electronic modulation, demonstrating potent antibacterial efficacy in vitro/vivo.
