Method and apparatus for determination of material residual stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A device for the determination of residual stress in a material sample consisting of a sensor coil, adjacent to the material sample, whose resistance varies according to the amount of stress within the material sample, a mechanical push-pull machine for ...

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

The assembly process and co-occurrence network of soil microbial community driven by cadmium in volcanic ecosystem

open access: yesResources, Environment and Sustainability
Heavy metal (HM) contamination affects the composition and structure of soil microbial communities, but there are few studies on the assembly process and co-occurrence network of soil microbial community succession driven by Cd in volcanic ecosystem.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Overexpression of wheat spermidine synthase gene enhances wheat resistance to Fusarium head blight

open access: yesPhytopathology Research
Polyamines, such as putrescine, spermidine, and spermine, are crucial for plant defense against both abiotic and biotic stresses. Putrescine is also known as a significant inducer of deoxynivalenol (DON) production in Fusarium graminearum, the primary ...
