Texture and stress state dependent creep in Zircaloy-2
Metallurgical Transactions A, 1981An experimental program was conducted to characterize creep strength differential (CSD) effects in Zircaloy-2 by the determination of differences in the magnitude of creep deformation in specimens under uniaxial tension and compression. The texture dependence of creep in these specimens was also characterized.

An analysis properties of the constitutive relations of the theory of deformation for physically nonlinear materials with properties depending on the type of stress state is carried out. These relations take into account two forms of nonlinearity, one of them is associated with the nonlinearity of the deformation diagrams and another one is associated ...

Dependence of energy distributions of interface states on stress conditions
Microelectronic Engineering, 2001Abstract This paper reports that the energy distribution of interface states has one peak in each half of the bandgap, when they are generated without supplying hydrogen to the SiO2–Si interface. By contrast, when hydrogen is available during the stress, only a single peak in the upper half of the gap is formed.

Does the Wind Stress Depend on the Sea State?
1999Abstract This paper discusses the effect of sea state on the drag coefficient (CD10N) to 10 m neutral wind speed (U10N) relationship, with particular emphasis on open ocean conditions. A large set of open ocean wind stress measurements were made using the inertial dissipation method during three cruises of the RRS Discovery in the ...

A critical state model for sands dependent on stress and density
International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, 2004AbstractAn elastoplastic model for sands is presented in this paper, which can describe stress–strain behaviour dependent on mean effective stress level and void ratio. The main features of the proposed model are: (a) a new state parameter, which is dependent on the initial void ratio and initial mean stress, is proposed and applied to the yield ...

Mechanics of media with stress-state dependent properties
Physical Mesomechanics, 2007The paper analyzes experimental findings on the deformation of heterogeneous materials that contain microcracks, pores, inclusions, and other structural singularities. The dependence of deformation properties of the materials on loading conditions was examined and common mechanisms and some peculiarities of their behavior were clarified.

Dependence of the stress state of the base on the form of the foundation in plan
Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, 19781. The results presented characterize the fundamental difference of stresses in the base under a round and an extended (rectangular) foundation: increased stresses under the ends and edges of a rectangular foundation, greater compression of the soil layers under the round foundation, difference in the ratios of the principal stresses in the base of ...

Stress-state dependent formability modelling in hot stamping
Production Engineering, 2019Despite their large industrial use, Forming Limit Diagrams can describe the material formability only under single-stroke deformations, but they can dramatically fail when the deformation is not linear or incremental as it happens in many sheet forming processes. So, the need of alternative approaches is particularly significant in order to have a more

We consider one possible approach to the problem of describing the dependence of material plastic strain characteristics on the stress hydrostatic component arising in many porous, fractured, and other inhomogeneous materials. The plastic strain of the media under study is investigated under the plasticity assumption in the corresponding generalized ...
