Standardized Testing of Non-Standard Photovoltaic Pavement Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Emerging photovoltaic products have expanded the applications for the technologies into markets previously unconsidered for what was thought to be a delicate electronic product.

Software testing for the CTA observation execution system

open access: yesAstronomical Telescopes + Instrumentation, 2018
The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) will be the next-generation ground-based instrument for detecting veryhigh energy gamma rays. It will consist of roughly 100 telescopes of different sizes and designs.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

CORRECTING ACCOUNTING RESULTS OF TENSIONS USING FEM BY HSS METHOD

open access: yesNauka ta progres transportu, 2011
The usage of the Hot Spot Stress (HSS) method by means of linear surface extrapolation (LSE) approach was analyzed for the correction of results of the Finite-Element Method (FEM) in case of singularity of stresses.

Validation of a wide plate finite element model using digital image correlation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
To investigate the influence of global plastic deformations on girth weld defect tolerance in pipelines, a parametric finite element model has been developed. This paper provides an experimental validation of the model.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Prediction of mechanical fatigue caused by multiple random excitations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A simulation method is presented for the fatigue analysis of automotive and other products that are subjected to multiple random excitations. The method is denoted as frequency domain stress-life fatigue analysis and was implemented in the automotive ...
