Cosmetic emulsions containing innovative complex coacervates: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 47, Issue 2, Page 383-397, April 2025.
This study demonstrates the successful encapsulation of α‐tocopherol using non‐animal biopolymers, improving its stability and functional properties in cosmetic emulsions. The developed microcapsules enhance product texture and rheological behaviour, offering promising potential for more stable and functional skincare formulations.

Acclimation temperature and parasite infection drive metabolic changes in a freshwater fish at different biological scales

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 39, Issue 2, Page 350-361, February 2025.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Environmental stressors such as elevated temperature and parasite infection can impact individual energy metabolism. However, organismal responses to co‐occurring stressors and their effects across biological scales remain unexplored despite the importance of ...

A Discrete Sine‐Cosine Transforms Galerkin Method for the Conductivity of Heterogeneous Materials With Mixed Dirichlet/Neumann Boundary Conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 126, Issue 1, 15 January 2025.
ABSTRACT This work aims at developing a numerical method for conductivity problems in heterogeneous media subjected to mixed Dirichlet/Neumann boundary conditions. The method relies on a fixed‐point iterative solution of an auxiliary problem obtained by a Galerkin discretization using an approximation space spanned by mixed cosine‐sine series.

Optical evaluation of internal damage to human hair based on second near‐infrared window polarization microscopy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 46, Issue 6, Page 850-864, December 2024.
A second near‐infrared (NIR) window microscope with circularly polarized optics noninvasively visualizes the internal state of hair and quantitatively evaluates hair damage caused by bleaching, permanent waveing, LiBr treatment, and heating. This method has high potential as a standard evaluation tool in the hair care field.

Fuites dans les filetages des tubages : influence de la température et du passage dans le domaine plastique Leakage Through Tubular Connections: Influence of Temperature and of Partial Overstressing Unto the Plastic State

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2006
Après un rappel des conditions et des résultats du frettage purement mécanique des raccords filetés coniques, puis de l'influence d'une pression intérieure de fluide sur la réaction entre filetage mâle et manchon, l'étude montre que l'existence d'un ...

Shake‐table tests on steel moment‐resisting frames with detachable yielding zones

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 53, Issue 12, Page 3798-3819, 10 October 2024.
Abstract This article presents an experimental campaign based on shake table tests conducted as part of the European research project FUTURE, funded in the framework of the H2020‐INFRAIA SERA program. Three steel moment‐resisting frame structures equipped with replaceable dissipative elements were tested. The experimental mockups were scaled two thirds

Impact of temperature and season on ant foraging activity of two invasive species in a Mediterranean urban area

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 673-681, October 2024.
Foraging activity was recorded around nests of two invasive species, Tapinoma magnum and Tapinoma darioi, in southern France, along a whole year and over a broad range of temperatures. Activity pattern did not differ between the two species, suggesting that differential response to temperature is not responsible for the differential invasion pattern ...
