ABSTRACT This work aims at developing a numerical method for conductivity problems in heterogeneous media subjected to mixed Dirichlet/Neumann boundary conditions. The method relies on a fixed‐point iterative solution of an auxiliary problem obtained by a Galerkin discretization using an approximation space spanned by mixed cosine‐sine series.

A second near‐infrared (NIR) window microscope with circularly polarized optics noninvasively visualizes the internal state of hair and quantitatively evaluates hair damage caused by bleaching, permanent waveing, LiBr treatment, and heating. This method has high potential as a standard evaluation tool in the hair care field.

Shake‐table tests on steel moment‐resisting frames with detachable yielding zones
Abstract This article presents an experimental campaign based on shake table tests conducted as part of the European research project FUTURE, funded in the framework of the H2020‐INFRAIA SERA program. Three steel moment‐resisting frame structures equipped with replaceable dissipative elements were tested. The experimental mockups were scaled two thirds
