Plants Stress: Salt Stress and Mechanisms of Stress Tolerance

open access: yesCurrent Agriculture Research Journal, 2023
A diverse combination of biotic and abiotic pressures makes up the environment that plants naturally inhabit. These pressures cause similarly complicated responses in plants. The purpose of the review is to critically evaluate the effects of various stress stimuli on higher plants with an emphasis on the typical and distinctive dose-dependent responses

Data_Sheet_1_NtNAC053, A Novel NAC Transcription Factor, Confers Drought and Salt Tolerances in Tobacco.ZIP

open access: yes, 2022
The NAC (NAM, ATAF1/2, and CUC2) family acts as one of the largest families of the transcription factor in the plant kingdom and was revealed to function as the important regulators in various environmental stresses.

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Optimization of the resonant frequency MEMS pressure sensor based on numerical simulation

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики
Silicon microelectromechanical pressure sensors of the resonant-frequency type are distinguished by high linearity and stability of their output characteristics, making them particularly promising for precision measurements.

Stress from cold and drought as drivers of functional trait spectra in North American angiosperm tree assemblages

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2017
Understanding how environmental change alters the composition of plant assemblages, and how this in turn affects ecosystem functioning is a major challenge in the face of global climate change.

STRESS TOLERANCE INDEX- A NEW INDICATOR OF TOLERANCE [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1992
Selection criteria for identifying genotypes with high stress tolerance and high yielding potentials were compared using a moderately stressed, (Stress intensity, [1-(mean stress yield (Y p̄ )/mean potential yield (Y s̄ )] 0.73) and a severely stressed (

Citrus breeding for biotic and abiotic stress tolerances; new tools and strategies for biodiversity Mobilization : S04T01 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Citrus industry is affected worldwide by several fungal, bacterial and viral diseases. Some production areas also suffer of strong abiotic constraints such as water deficit, salt stress and iron chlorosis. Resistance or tolerance traits for most of these

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.
