Water‐Stable Paper‐Based Laser‐Induced Graphene With Asymmetric Water Adhesion and Wettability

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Paper‐based electronics are attractive for sustainable and disposable devices, but often fail in wet environments. By introducing Parafilm into cellulose paper combined with laser conversion, two graphene surfaces with different water interactions are created.

Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear. Mechanical perturbatio provides a controllable route for defect engineering in smectric liquid crystal thin films.

TRIBO MODELLING IN STRETCHING OF THIN SHEETS

open access: yes, 1998
Stretching of sheet metal is a typical stress-strain scheme characterized by positive values of principal normal stresses, one contact surface between the sheet metal and the tool, and relatively small sliding speed at that zone. strain occurs only in the hole of the die, while the work piece flange is held firmly between the holder and the die.

Mechanically Robust MXene‐Metal Polyphenol Network Hybrid Interfaces for Multifunctional Protection of Keratin Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Hair keratin fibers inevitably deteriorate under UV exposure, heat, and dryness. A robust composite coating assembles delaminated Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets onto keratin surfaces through biocompatible metal‐polyphenol networks of EGCG. This hybrid layer simultaneously screens UV, dissipates heat, reinforces mechanical strength, suppresses static charge ...
