Stretch-minimising stream surfaces [PDF]
Display Omitted We study the problem of finding stretch-minimising stream surfaces in a divergence-free vector field. These surfaces are generated by motions of seed curves that propagate through the field in a stretch minimising manner, i.e., they move without stretching or shrinking, preserving the length of their arbitrary arc.

Impulsive Stretching of a Surface in a Viscous Fluid [PDF]
Summary: The induced transient viscous flow due to a suddenly stretched surface is studied. After a similarity transform, the unsteady Navier-Stokes equations are solved by several methods, including perturbation for small times, numerical integration, and asymptotic analysis for large times.

DNA stretching on functionalized gold surfaces [PDF]
We describe a method for anchoring bacteriophage lambda DNA by one end to gold by Au-biotin-streptavidin-biotin-DNA bonds. DNA anchored to a microfabricated Au line could be aligned and stretched in flow and electric fields. The anchor was shown to resist a force of at least 11 pN, a linkage strong enough to allow DNA molecules of chromosome size to be

Dusty Nanofluid Past a Centrifugally Stretching Surface [PDF]
This communication reports, the flow of Cu-water dusty nanofluid past a centrifugally stretching surface under the effect of second order slip and convective boundary conditions. The coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations are get hold of from the partial differential equations which are derived from the conservation of momentum and energy of

STRETCHING THE FRACTAL SEQUENCES AND TOPOTHESY OF THE SURFACES
The method to determine the fractal properties of fracture is proposed. The method is based on the multidimensional Pythagorean theorem and deformation of the length scales in fractal space. The topothesy of the surface profile can be determined as a parameter of the space stretching.
