String-loop corrected magnetic black holes [PDF]
We discuss the form of the string-loop-corrected effective action obtained by compactification of the heterotic string theory on the manifold $K3\times T^2$ or on its orbifold limit and the loop-corrected magnetic black hole solutions of the equations of motion. Effective 4D theory has N=2 local supersymmetry.

Input-Dependent Error Sketching Model Enabled Information Theoretical Secure Sketch
Secure sketch conceals any random string w by generating a helper string ss (known as a sketch). It allows the exact recovery of w from ss given another value w' that is close to w. A secure sketch can be utilized to protect any error-prone secret, e.g.,

Black Hole Entropy from a Highly Excited Elementary String [PDF]
Suggested correspondence between a black hole and a highly excited elementary string is explored. Black hole entropy is calculated by computing the density of states for an open excited string.

String unification, grand unification and string loop threshold corrections
Abstract A study is made of all ZN and ZM×ZN orbifolds to discover for which orbifolds string loop threshold corrections to the renormalisation group equations for the gauge coupling constants enable string unification together with SO(6)×SO(4), [SU(3)]3 or flipped SU(5)×U(1) grand unification to occur at a scale less than 1018 GeV.

This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Relations between closed string amplitudes and mixed string amplitudes at tree-level
This paper investigates the relationships between closed and mixed string amplitudes at the tree level in string theory. Through the analytic continuation of complex variables, we establish a factorization of closed string amplitudes into those involving

Effective string picture for confinement at finite temperature: theoretical predictions and high precision numerical results [PDF]
The effective string picture of confinement is used to derive theoretical predictions for the interquark potential at finite temperature. At short distances, the leading string correction to the linear confining potential between a heavy quark-antiquark ...

Hagedorn behaviour of little string theory from string corrections to NS5-branes [PDF]
Following the conjectured duality between near-horizon NS5-branes and little string theory, the string-corrected thermodynamics of near-horizon NS5-branes is studied and found to agree with the statistical thermodynamics of a 5+1 dimensional supersymmetric string theory near the Hagedorn temperature.
