STRING STRING DUALITY CONJECTURE IN SIX DIMENSIONS AND CHARGED SOLITONIC STRINGS [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.B450:103-114,1995, 1995
It has recently been conjectured that the type IIA string theory compactified on K3 and the heterotic string theory compactified on a four dimensional torus describe identical string theories. The fundamental heterotic string can be regarded as a non-singular soliton solution of the type IIA string theory with a semi-infinite throat.

Gauge Transformations in String Field Theory and canonical Transformation in String Theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Lett. B284 (1992) 36-42, 1992
We study how canonical transfomations in first quantized string theory can be understood as gauge transformations in string field theory. We establish this fact by working out some examples. As a by product, we could identify some of the fields appearing in string field theory with their counterparts in the $\sigma$-model.

On string fields and superstring field theories [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2009
We offer some thoughts regarding the space of string fields. We suggest that this space should be identified as the odd component of a star-algebra and focus among other issues on the role of the mid-point. We argue that theories with mid-point insertions in the action, such as the modified cubic theory can be well behaved, even if this mid-point ...

A superstring field theory for supergravity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
A covariant closed superstring field theory, equivalent to classical tendimensional Type II supergravity, is presented. The defining conformal field theory is the ambitwistor string worldsheet theory of Mason and Skinner.

On String Field Theory and Effective Actions [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys. B391 (1993) 229-256, 1992
A truncation of string field theory is compared with the duality invariant effective action of $D=4, N=4$ heterotic strings to cubic order. The three string vertex must satisfy a set of compatibility conditions. Any cyclic three string vertex is compatible with the $D=4, N=4$ effective field theory.

Local string field theory [PDF]

open access: yesXIVth International Congress on Mathematical Physics, 2006
We consider open bosonic strings. The non-interacting multi-string theory is described by certain free string field operators which we construct. These are shown to have local commutators with respect to a center of mass coordinate. The construction is carried out both in the light cone gauge and in a covariant formulation.

On open-closed extension of boundary string field theory [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 1207:059,2012, 2012
We investigate a classical open-closed string field theory whose open string sector is given by boundary string field theory. The open-closed interaction is introduced by the overlap of a boundary state with a closed string field. With the help of the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism, the closed string sector is determined to be the HIKKO closed string ...

Light strings and strong coupling in F-theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We consider 4d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 theories arising from F-theory compactifications on elliptically-fibered Calabi-Yau four-folds and investigate the non-perturbative structure of their scalar field space beyond the large volume/large complex ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.
