Oriented Open-Closed String Theory Revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
String theory on D-brane backgrounds is open-closed string theory. Given the relevance of this fact, we give details and elaborate upon our earlier construction of oriented open-closed string field theory.

RKIP overexpression reduces lung adenocarcinoma aggressiveness and sensitizes cells to EGFR‐targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RKIP, a metastasis suppressor protein, modulates key oncogenic pathways in lung adenocarcinoma. In silico analyses linked low RKIP expression to poor survival. Functional studies revealed RKIP overexpression reduces tumor aggressiveness and enhances sensitivity to EGFR‐targeted therapies, while its loss promotes resistance.

On tensionless string field theory in AdS3

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We report on progress in formulating a field theory of tensionless strings in AdS3, starting from the dual large-N symmetric orbifold CFT. We propose a set of field equations which are gauge invariant under the higher spin algebra of the theory, the ...

Dual D-brane actions in nonrelativistic string theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We study worldvolume actions for D-branes coupled to the worldvolume U(1) gauge field and Ramond-Ramond (RR) potentials in nonrelativistic string theory.

Dynamical String Tension in String Theory with Spacetime Weyl Invariance

open access: yes, 2014
The fundamental string length, which is an essential part of string theory, explicitly breaks scale invariance. However, in field theory we demonstrated recently that the gravitational constant, which is directly related to the string length, can be ...

String Field Theory and Perturbative Dynamics of Noncommutative Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The perturbative dynamics of noncommutative field theory (NCFT) is discussed from a point view of string field theory. As in the commutative case it is inevitable to introduce a closed string, which may be described as a bound state of two noncommutative

On democratic string field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Abstract We reexamine democratic open string field theories, namely, theories in which string fields are not constrained to a single picture number and picture changing is obtained as a gauge transformation. We describe several possibilities for regular free theories and attempt to construct the lowest order interaction term and ...

Field theory questions for string theory answers [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1997
We discuss the field theory of 3-brane probes in F-theory compactifications in two configurations, generalizing the work of Sen and of Banks, Douglas and Seiberg. One configuration involves several parallel 3-brane probes in F-theory compactified on $T^4/Z_2$, while the other involves a compactification of F-theory on $T^6/Z_2 x Z_2$ (which includes ...

Most autophagic cell death studies lack evidence of causality

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Of 104 studies claiming autophagic cell death (ACD), only 13 demonstrated both causality and exclusion of apoptosis to confirm true ACD. Most studies relied on correlation‐level data or measured autophagy in isolation, revealing pervasive methodological shortcomings.
