Quantum foam and topological strings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2008
We find an interpretation of the recent connection found between topological strings on Calabi-Yau threefolds and crystal melting: Summing over statistical mechanical configuration of melting crystal is equivalent to a quantum gravitational path integral involving fluctuations of Kahler geometry and topology.

Real time quantum gravity dynamics from classical statistical Yang-Mills simulations

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We perform microcanonical classical statistical lattice simulations of SU(N) Yang-Mills theory with eight scalars on a circle. Measuring the eigenvalue distribution of the spatial Wilson loop we find two distinct phases depending on the total energy and ...

Nonrelativistic pulsating strings

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We explore nonrelativistic (NR) pulsating string configurations over torsion Newton-Cartan (TNC) geometry having topology R × S 2 and check the corresponding analytic integrability criteria following Kovacic’s algorithm.

Strong coupling expansion of circular Wilson loops and string theories in AdS5 × S 5 and AdS4 × CP 3

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We revisit the problem of matching the strong coupling expansion of the 1 2 $$ \frac{1}{2} $$ BPS circular Wilson loops in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 SYM and ABJM gauge theories with their string theory duals in AdS5 × S 5 and AdS4 × CP 3, at the first ...

The Topological G2 String

open access: yesAdvances in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, 2005
We construct new topological theories related to sigma models whose target space is a seven dimensional manifold of G_2 holonomy. We define a new type of topological twist and identify the BRST operator and the physical states. Unlike the more familiar six dimensional case, our topological model is defined in terms of conformal blocks and not in terms ...

Azimuthal flows in hadron collisions from quark-gluon string repulsion

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
Color flux tubes (quark-gluon strings), formed at early stages of hadron-hadron collisions, may overlap in case of suffciently high densities and interact, producing longrange azimuthal correlations.

Nonliquid cellular states: Gluing gauge-higher-symmetry-breaking versus gauge-higher-symmetry-extension interfacial defects

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
The existence of quantum nonliquid states and fracton orders, both gapped and gapless states, challenges our understanding of phases of entangled matter. We generalize the cellular topological states to liquid or nonliquid cellular states.

STRINGS AND NON-TOPOLOGICAL SOLITONS [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 1994
We have numerically calculated topological and non-topological solitons in two spatial dimensions with Chern-Simons term. Their quantum stability, as well as that of the Maxwell vortex, is analyzed by means of bounce instantons which involve three-dimensional strings and non-topological solitons.
