Precision of strip triangulation, theory and statistical tests
Photogrammetria, 1962Summary The paper read by F. Ackermann dealt with the main contents of his thesis concerning a comprehensive theoretical study of the precision of strip-triangulation and strip-adjustment, as depending both on the quantity and distribution of control points, and the adjustment method applied.

Aerodynamic Influence Coefficients from Strip Theory
Journal of the Aerospace Sciences, 1959T N ANY AEROELASTIC ANALYSIS by collocation methods, both structural and aerodynamic influence coefficients must be known. We consider here the derivation of the aerodynamic influence coefficients (AICs) from the simplest of the aerodynamic theories—that of strip theory in which the flow along any section of the wing can be considered as two ...

The distorted wave theory of heavy particle stripping
Nuclear Physics, 1962Abstract The nuclear reaction known as heavy particle stripping is treated as a general type of nuclear reaction using the distorted wave Born approximation. General expressions for angular distributions and polarizations and polarizations are obtained and simple cases discussed,.

Theory of deuteron stripping on doubly even nuclei
Zeitschrift fr Physik, 1971Using the method of quantum Green functions we derive a rigorous formula for the deuteron stripping on a doubly even nucleus. Starting from this formula we discuss the distorted-wave Born approximation, some additional assumptions usually made in numerical calculations and the high-energy case.

Potential theory problem for two strips in contact
Journal of Engineering Mathematics, 1974The problem of two geometrically identical strips in contact to form the potential theory equivalent to a lap joint is formulated and reduced, by integral transform methods, to the solution of a singular integral equation. A collocation scheme is used to obtain numerical results for various overlaps and amounts of coupling between the strips.

Beam Theory and the Residual Effects in the Elastic Strip
1989In order to treat the problem of the straight elastic beam within the framework of a two-dimensional formulation, we consider the boundary value problem for the plane figure defined by the side-view projection of the three-dimensional body. Corresponding to the midplane of the beam the figure has an axis of symmetry, called the centerline or axis ...

Hypersonic Validation of Strip Theory for Swept Wings [PDF]
The world of hypersonic flight is a complex one. Effects such as thin shock layers, entropy layers viscous interactions, high temperature flows and low density flows, merely compound to the complexity of modern compressible flow. In order to accurately achieve solutions to hypersonic problems, one is often driven to the only reliable option of ...
