Simulation Study on Surface Temperature Distribution of Collector Strip Material Under Pantograph-Catenary Arc of Urban Rail

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
With the increasing speed of urban rail trains, the vibration between the pantograph collector strip and the contact wire intensifies, and the pantograph-catenary arc occurs frequently, which severely wear the surface materials of the pantograph-catenary.

Entanglement entropy at higher orders for the states of a = 3 θ = 1 Lifshitz theory

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
We evaluate the entanglement entropy of strips for boosted D3-black-branes compactified along the lightcone coordinate. The bulk theory describes 3-dimensional a=3 θ=1 Lifshitz theory on the boundary.

The yield condition strongly influences the formation of Dugdale plastic strips ahead of crack tips under tensile plane stress loading conditions

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanical Behavior of Materials, 2012
A finite element analysis indicates a good correlation between the Dugdale plastic strip model and a linear elastic/perfectly plastic material under plane stress loading conditions for a flow theory of plasticity based on the Tresca yield condition.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Practicability of unified theory in calculating ship hydrodynamics

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu
ObjectivesThis study seeks to address the low-frequency limitations in the computation of hydrodynamics for slender ships using strip theory, and develops an efficient method for calculating hydrodynamics over a wider frequency range for slender ships ...

Discrete Model Predictive Control Scheme for an Integrated Gauge-Looper Control System in a Tandem Hot Strip Mill

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
There exists strong coupling and a complex multivariable relation among the strip gauge, looper angle and strip tension in tandem hot rolling. To improve the gauge precision of the hot strip, the dynamic relationship among these three variables must be ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Analytical Study on Inherent Properties of a Unidirectional Vibrating Steel Strip Partially Immersed in Fluid

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2013
The theory of singuarity functions is introduced to present an analytical approach for the natural properties of a unidirectional vibrating steel strip with two opposite edges simply supported and other two free, partially submerged in fluid and under ...
