Robust corner and tangent point detection for strokes with deep learning approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
A robust corner and tangent point detection (CTPD) tool is critical for sketch-based engineering modeling. This paper proposes a robust CTPD approach for hand-drawn strokes with deep learning approach. Its robustness for users, stroke shapes and biased datasets is improved due to multiscaled point contexts and a vote scheme.

Numerical Investigations on the Port Flow Field of a Two-Stroke Poppet Valve Engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper describes the model and simulation results of port flow field investigations on a two-stroke poppet valve engine. Higher power to weight ratio has been the advantage of a two-stroke engine over the four-stroke engine.

Predicting Stroke from Electronic Health Records [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Studies have identified various risk factors associated with the onset of stroke in an individual. Data mining techniques have been used to predict the occurrence of stroke based on these factors by using patients' medical records. However, there has been limited use of electronic health records to study the inter-dependency of different risk factors ...

Mitochondrial Transplantation via Magnetically Responsive Artificial Cells Promotes Intracerebral Hemorrhage Recovery by Supporting Microglia Immunological Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A type of magnetically responsive artificial cells (ACs) has been developed, demonstrating the loading of mitochondria and self‐enclosure processes to ensure the protection of mitochondrial transport via the bloodstream. The treatment with ACs effectively transplanted mitochondria around the lesion, thereby improving neurological recovery by supporting

Quantum Lubrication: Suppression of Friction in a First Principle Four Stroke Heat Engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A quantum model of a heat engine resembling the Otto cycle is employed to explore strategies to suppress frictional losses. These losses are caused by the inability of the engine's working medium to follow adiabatically the change in the Hamiltonian during the expansion and compression stages.

Numerical Algorithm Development for Optimizing the Engine Stroke of Linear Generators [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
This paper presents the results of a numerical algorithm development to optimize the engine strokes in a linear engine incorporating combustion and kickback. Due to the free piston reciprocal movement occurring in linear engines, the stroke of linear engines cannot be determined by using of fixed position.
