Verification of the Storage Stability of Fecal Hemoglobin in Stool Sampling Bottle Using Improved Buffer - A Pilot Study -

open access: yesJournal of the Anus, Rectum and Colon
Objective: The temperature and duration of sample storage is known to affect the accuracy of the fecal immunochemical test (FIT). This study compared an improved stool collection buffer with the conventional buffer on the fecal hemoglobin (Hb ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Strong Stability Preserving Multistep Runge-Kutta Methods

open access: yes, 2013
High-order spatial discretizations with strong stability properties (such as monotonicity) are desirable for the solution of hyperbolic PDEs. Methods may be compared in terms of the strong stability preserving (SSP) time-step. We prove an upper bound on the SSP coefficient of explicit multistep Runge--Kutta methods of order two and above.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Substitutional Tb Incorporation, p–n Conductivity Transition, and Gamma-Irradiation Effects on the Thermoelectric Properties TbₓSn₁₋ₓSe Solid Solutions

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
The physicochemical and thermoelectric properties of TbₓSn₁₋ₓSe (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.05) solid solutions were systematically investigated with emphasis on composition-driven carrier-type transition and γ-irradiation effects. Differential thermal analysis reveals a

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Quasi One-Dimensional Model of Natural Draft Wet-Cooling Tower Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
The article deals with the development of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) model of natural draft wet-cooling tower flow, heat and mass transfer. The moist air flow is described by the system of conservation laws along with additional equations.
