Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Effectiveness of an HbA1c tracking tool on primary care management of diabetes mellitus: glycaemic control, clinical practice and usability

open access: yesJournal of Innovation in Health Informatics, 2009
Objective To determine if a laboratory data report (the HbA1c Tracking Tool) could be used as an effective intervention to improve diabetes management. Design A longitudinal quasi-experimental cohort design was used to test the effectiveness of an HbA1c ...

Suppression of Biodynamic Interference by Adaptive Filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Preliminary experimental results obtained in moving base simulator tests are presented. Both for pursuit and compensatory tracking tasks, a strong deterioration in tracking performance due to biodynamic interference is found.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

α-Tracks in Presence of Strong γ-Radiation [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1935
IN investigations of nuclear transformations, it is sometimes desirable to be able to observe α-particles (or protons) in the presence of strong γ-radiation. This has already been successfully accomplished by means of an ionisation chamber connected up to a valve-amplifier and oscillograph (as in the investigations of Chadwick and Goldhaber1 on the ...

Study on stochastic perturbation strong tracking particle filter

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 2014
To solve the degeneracy phenomenon and to improve the ability for tracking the breaking states are two difficult problems in the application of particle filter. Sequential important re-sampling can reduce orilliminate degeneracy, but the sample impoverishment is a secondary result.
