Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship among cumulative social disadvantage ...

Strongly regular graphs and finite Ramsey theory

open access: yes, 1982
Some connections between strongly regular graphs and finite Ramsey theory are drawn. Let Bn denote the graph K2+K̄n. If there exists a strongly regular graph with parameters (υ, k, λ, μ), then the Ramsey number r(Bλ+1, Bυ−2k+μ −1)⩾υ+1.

A Return to Normality: A Descriptive Qualitative Interview Study Exploring the Patient Experience of Gout Flare Resolution

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Although the definition of a gout flare is well established, the state of gout flare resolution has not yet been defined. This study aimed to explore patients’ experiences and perceptions of gout flare resolution. Methods Semistructured interviews were conducted with 24 people with gout, guided by open‐ended questions exploring their ...

Bent Functions and Strongly Regular Graphs

open access: yesQeios
The family of bent functions is a known class of Boolean functions, which have a great importance in cryptography. The Cayley graph defined on \(\mathbb{Z}_{2}^{n}\) by the support of a bent function is a strongly regular graph \(srg(v,k,\lambda,\mu)\), with \(\lambda=\mu\). In this note we list the parameters of such Cayley graphs.

The Spectra of Complementary Subgraphs in a Strongly Regular Graph

open access: yes, 1998
As an application of Jacobi's identity on complementary minors, one can exhibit a simple explicit relation between the characteristic polynomials of any pair of complementary induced subgraphs in a strongly regular graph.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

NFDI MatWerk Ontology (MWO): A BFO‐Compliant Ontology for Research Data Management in Materials Science and Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the NFDI‐MatWerk Ontology (MWO), a Basic Formal Ontology‐based framework for interoperable research data management in materials science and engineering (MSE). Covering consortium structures, research data management resources, services, and instruments, MWO enables semantic integration, Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and ...

A geometrical characterization of strongly regular graphs

open access: yes, 2012
We give a necessary and sufficient condition of a Euclidean representation of a simple graph to be spherical. Moreover we show a characterization of strongly regular graphs from the view point of Euclidean representations of a graph.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.
