Laser sources for precision spectroscopy on atomic strontium [PDF]
We present a new laser setup designed for high-precision spectroscopy on laser cooled atomic strontium. The system, which is entirely based on semiconductor laser sources, delivers 200 mW at 461 nm for cooling and trapping atomic strontium from a thermal source, 4 mW at 497 nm for optical pumping from the metastable P23 state, 12 mW at 689 nm on ...

Jet-loaded cold atomic beam source for strontium
We report on the design and characterization of a cold atom source for strontium (Sr) based on a two-dimensional magneto-optical trap (MOT) that is directly loaded from the atom jet of a dispenser. We characterize the atom flux of the source by measuring the loading rate of a three-dimensional MOT.

XPS chemical state mapping in opto- and microelectronics [PDF]
The strength of XPS imaging lies in its ability to (i) locate small patterns on sample surface, and (ii) inform, with micrometric lateral resolution, about the chemical environment of the elements detected at the surface. In this context, strontium-based

Lifetimes of ultra-long-range strontium Rydberg molecules [PDF]
The lifetimes of the lower-lying vibrational states of ultralong-range strontium Rydberg molecules comprising one ground-state 5s2 1S0 atom and one Rydberg atom in the 5s38s 3S1 state are reported. The molecules are created in an ultracold gas held in an

The self-comparison method is a powerful tool in the uncertainty evaluation of optical lattice clocks, but any drifts will cause a frequency offset between the two compared clock loops and thus lead to incorrect measurement result.

A transportable strontium optical lattice clock [PDF]
We report on a transportable optical clock, based on laser-cooled strontium atoms trapped in an optical lattice. The experimental apparatus is composed of a compact source of ultra-cold strontium atoms including a compact cooling laser set-up and a ...

Crystal structure of Sr2CdPt2 containing linear platinum chains
The ternary intermetallic title phase, distrontium cadmium diplatinum, was prepared from stoichiometric amounts of the elements at 1123 K for one day. The crystal structure adopts the orthorhombic Ca2GaCu2 structure type in space group Immm.

Microscopic Control and Detection of Ultracold Strontium in Optical-Tweezer Arrays
Optical tweezers provide a versatile platform for the manipulation and detection of single atoms. Here, we use optical tweezers to demonstrate a set of tools for the microscopic control of atomic strontium, which has two valence electrons.

Crystal structure of the intermetallic compound SrCdPt
The crystal structure of the title compound, strontium cadmium platinum, adopts the TiNiSi structure type with the Sr atoms on the Ti, the Cd atoms on the Ni and the Pt atoms on the Si positions, respectively. The Pt atoms form cadmium-centred tetrahedra

Cooling and trapping of atomic strontium
We present a detailed investigation of strontium magneto-optical trap (MOT) dynamics. Relevant physical quantities in the trap, such as temperature, atom number and density, and loss channels and lifetime, are explored with respect to various trap parameters.
