Optical magnetism and wavefront control by arrays of strontium atoms
By analyzing the parameters of electronic transitions, we show how bosonic Sr atoms in planar optical lattices can be engineered to exhibit optical magnetism and other higher-order electromagnetic multipoles that can be harnessed for wavefront control of

Narrow-line imaging of single strontium atoms in shallow optical tweezers
Single strontium atoms held in optical tweezers have so far only been imaged using the broad ^{1}S_{0}-^{1}P_{1}transition. For Yb, use of the narrow (183-kHz wide) ^{1}S_{0}-^{3}P_{1}transition for simultaneous imaging and cooling has been demonstrated ...

Atomic masses of strontium and ytterbium
The atomic masses of the three most abundant isotopes of strontium, ${}^{86,87,88}$Sr, and of the six most abundant isotopes of ytterbium, ${}^{170,171,172,173,174,176}$Yb, have been obtained from measurements of cyclotron frequency ratios of pairs of ions simultaneously trapped in a Penning trap.

Optical lattice clock on bosonic Strontium atoms [PDF]
We report on recent realization of an optical lattice clock operating on the 1S 0 -3P 0 transition in 88Sr, at LENS laboratories. The clock transition is excited with the technique of magnetic field-induced spectroscopy. New experimental techniques has also been developed in order to simplifies the clock spectroscopy in Sr atoms.

Structural classification of quasi-one-dimensional ternary nitrides [PDF]
This review focuses on the crystal structural features of ternary (mixed-metal) quasi-one-dimensional nitrides i.e., nitrides containing (cation-³⁻) coordination polyhedra sharing either corners, edges, or faces, arranged in linear chains, and ...

Non-Abelian adiabatic geometric transformations in a cold strontium gas
The symmetry group and geometric phase of a system are responsible for many quantum properties related to non-trivial topology. Here the authors show non-Abelian geometric phase in laser-coupled ultracold strontium atoms by using a tripod scheme.

The structure and energetics of $^3$He and $^4$He nanodroplets doped with alkaline earth atoms
We present systematic results, based on density functional calculations, for the structure and energetics of $^3$He and $^4$He nanodroplets doped with alkaline earth atoms.

Electrodynamic trapping of spinless neutral atoms with an atom chip
Three dimensional electrodynamic trapping of neutral atoms has been demonstrated. By applying time-varying inhomogeneous electric fields with micron-sized electrodes, nearly $10^2$ strontium atoms in the $^1S_0$ state have been trapped with a lifetime of
