Coherent three-photon excitation of the strontium clock transition

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We demonstrate coherent three-photon excitation of the strontium clock transition with a contrast of 51(12)% using a Bose-Einstein condensate. We follow it up with a demonstration of three-photon STIRAP-like transfer, overcoming the typical limitations ...

Quantum-Assisted Measurement of Atomic Diamagnetism

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2020
We report the first measurement of ground-state diamagnetism of isolated neutral atoms in an atomic beam. We realize this measurement using magnetic deflection of fringes in a long-baseline matter-wave interferometer.

Poly[tetraaqua-μ3-pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylato-strontium(II)]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2008
The reaction of strontium(II) nitrate with the proton-transfer compound (pdaH2)(py-3,5-dc)·H2O (where pda = propane-1,3-diamine and py-3,5-dcH2 = pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) leads to the formation of the title polymeric compound, [Sr(C7H3NO4 ...

The impact of Nd3+/La3+ substitution on the cation distribution and phase diagram in the La2SrAl2O7-Nd2SrAl2O7 system

open access: yesChimica Techno Acta, 2018
The effect of isovalent cation substitution of lanthanum atoms in the structure of La2SrAl2O7 oxide, and phase equilibria (solidus-liquidus curves) in the binary system La2SrAl2O7-Nd2SrAl2O7 were studied.

Development of Compact and Robust Physical System for Strontium Optical Lattice Clock

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Compact and robust optical clocks are significant in scientific research and engineering. Here, we present a physical system for a strontium atomic optical clock with dimensions of 465 mm × 588 mm × 415 mm and a weight of 66.6 kg. To date, this is one of

Laser cooling with adiabatic transfer on a Raman transition

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
Sawtooth Wave Adiabatic Passage (SWAP) laser cooling was recently demonstrated using a narrow-linewidth single-photon optical transition in atomic strontium and may prove useful for cooling other atoms and molecules.

A noise-immune cavity-assisted non-destructive detection for an optical lattice clock in the quantum regime

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
We present and implement a non-destructive detection scheme for the transition probability readout of an optical lattice clock. The scheme relies on a differential heterodyne measurement of the dispersive properties of lattice-trapped atoms enhanced by a

Dynamic control of a narrow-line red magneto-optical trap for strontium atoms under microgravity [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
The microgravity environment modifies the resonance condition that is formed with the participation of gravity in the 689 nm narrow-line magneto-optical trap (red MOT) of a ground-based strontium optical clock.

Ultracold atomic gases of strontium

open access: yes, 2020
The thesis describes the design and construction of a new versatile strontium quantum gas machine with envisioned quantum gas microscope capability. The relevant theory for the operation of a quantum gas experiment in general is presented, as well as the peculiarities of working with strontium, and the calculation of a single-site single-atom detection

Single strontium atoms in optical tweezers

open access: yes, 2023
This thesis shows our work towards trapping single strontium atoms inside tightly focused off-resonant laser beams, known as optical tweezers. More specifically, we demonstrate high-fidelity imaging of single strontium atoms using its narrow (7.4 kHz-wide) 1S0 - 3P1 transition. The atoms are trapped in non-magic-wavelength tweezers for this transition.
