A new polymorph of strontium hexaferrite stabilized at the nanoscale

CrystEngComm, 2020
During hydrothermal synthesis the magnetoplumbite strontium-ferrite nanoplatelets form via the growth of primary discoid nanoplatelets with a new, incredibly complex hexagonal structure.

Preparation and Characterization of Coprecipitated Strontium Hexaferrite

Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society, 1989
Strontium hexaferrite was prepared from coprecipitated strontium iron complex obtained from metal chloride solutions in the presence of ammonium carbonate. Coprecipitation parameters were varied in the ranges pH 7.5–10, dilution 0.001–0.5 moles Fe in solution and Fe/Sr ratio 11–25.

The effect of strontium dissolution by milling in water on the magnetic properties of strontium hexaferrite

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1976
Abstract The milling in or the simple contact with water of strontium hexaferrite powders produces a loss of stromtium ions which amounted to about 10% from the total amount present in ferrite when the stoichiometric compound was wet milled for 10 h.

Characterisation of strontium hexaferrite for millimeter waves applications

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1986
The linewidth of magnetic and dielectric resonances have been measured at 94 GHz in the 77 K - 300 K temperature range on flux grown SrFe 12 O 19 single crystals. These results and the variation of the anisotropy field versus temperature are presented along with a description of the measurements techniques.

Structural inhomogeneity and magnetic properties of strontium hexaferrites

Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1995
The clustered inhomogeneity observed in ferromagnetic materials deepens our concepts of the actual structure of solids and opens new possibilities for controlling their properties. These investigations were made for the purpose of establishment of the relationship between clusterization and magnetic properties of SrO-nFe{sub 2}O{sub 3}, where 5.4 < n <

Magnetic behaviour of Neodymium-substituted strontium hexaferrite

Applied Physics A, 2016
Neodymium-substituted strontium hexaferrites, Sr1−x Nd x Fe12O19 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20), have been successfully synthesized by using citrate precursor method. The synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Transmission electron microscopy and vibrating sample ...

Fine‐grained erbium‐doped strontium hexaferrite

physica status solidi (a), 2006
AbstractIn the present work the Er‐substituted Sr hexaferrite, SrFe12–x Erx O19, prepared by sol–gel self combustion and subsequent heat treatments, is investigated. The combusted powders were annealed at 800, 900 and 1000 °C for 5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160 and 320 min. The influence of annealing temperature and time on the structure and magnetic properties

Stable colloidal solutions of strontium hexaferrite hard magnetic nanoparticles

Chem. Commun., 2014
Herein we demonstrate an approach to prepare a colloidal solution of strontium hexaferrite via a glass-ceramic route. The as obtained colloids are stable and resistive to aggregation or sedimentation. They reveal outstanding magnetic and magneto-optical properties because of their platelet-like anisotropic shape and high permanent magnetic moment.

Milling Duration Influence on Strontium Hexaferrite Technological Characteristics

Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2021
Fine powders of strontium hexaferrite are widely used in powder metallurgy for the production of permanent magnets resistant to atmospheric oxygen and high working temperatures. Obtaining powders with predefined technological characteristics in minimal time and with minimal energy consumption is an actual problem of powder metallurgy.
