Assessing chemical exposure risk in breastfeeding infants: An explainable machine learning model for human milk transfer prediction

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Breast milk is essential for infant health, but the transfer of xenobiotic chemicals poses significant risks. Ethical challenges in clinical trials necessitate the use of in vitro predictive models to assess chemical exposure risks in breastfeeding ...

Targeting the NR1D1–IGF2BP2–V‐ATPase Axis With Hybrid Nanovesicles Restores Macrophage Rhythms to Reverse Sepsis‐Induced Immunosuppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sepsis disrupts immune‐cell rhythms and weakens bacterial clearance. Biomimetic nanovesicles combining erythrocyte and inflammation‐activated macrophage membranes deliver siNR1D1 to dysfunctional macrophages, restoring the NR1D1–IGF2BP2–V‐ATPase pathway, circadian regulation, phagolysosomal acidification, and antimicrobial defense.

Integrated O2 and H2 Gas Therapy via Microneedle‐Assisted Photocatalytic Water Splitting for Accelerating Diabetic Full‐Thickness Skin Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A concept of integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy is achieved using a gas‐producing material. PMP nanoparticles, fabricated from platinum, MIL‐101(Fe)‐NH2, and phosphotungstic acid, are integrated into bilayer gelatin methacryloyl microneedles for transdermal delivery. These microneedles enable integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy and promote wound healing via

Diagnosis and treatment of optic neuritis as a manifestation of persistent herpesvirus infection: a clinical case

open access: yesРоссийский офтальмологический журнал
A clinical case of bilateral descending optic neuritis in a 63-year-old patient is presented. The patient, whose age is beyond the normal limit for this pathology, was previously treated for neuritis of the right eye, which had no effect and led to a ...

Force‐Electric Nanotentacles of Tantalum Implant Accelerate Cellular Energy Metabolism/Crosstalk for Immunomodulation‐Vascularized Bone Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic force‐electric nanotentacle‐enabled tantalum (Ta) implant with surface‐nanostructured LiTaO3 (n‐LiTaO3) was first developed via laser nanofabrication combined with Li+‐induced in situ reaction, enabling the transduction of ultrasound into bioelectrical cues.

Lyssavirus Nucleoprotein Induces GPAT4‐Mediated CYB5R1 Depalmitoylation to Suppress Ferroptosis and Promote Viral Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid metabolism plays a vital role in viral infections. Here, we reveal that the lyssavirus N protein regulates GPAT4 to induce lipid droplet biogenesis, restricting CYB5R1 palmitoylation and reducing ferroptosis susceptibility to ultimately promote viral replication.

Monitoring and early warning detection of collapse and subsidence sinkholes using an optical fibre seismic sensor

open access: yesCogent Engineering
We present and experimentally demonstrate a seismic ambient noise monitoring optical fibre sensor for early warning detection of sinkholes. The developed optical fibre sensor is designed for warning alert of subsidence and cover collapse sinkholes.

Critical Roles of O‐Acetylation Revealed by Synthetic Trisaccharide Antigens for a Broad‐Spectrum Anti‐Salmonella Vaccine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A synthetic glycoconjugate vaccine based on a diacetylated Salmonella trisaccharide elicits broadly protective antibodies against four major human pathogenic serovars. Mechanistic studies identify 2,3‐di‐O‐acetylation of rhamnose as a critical determinant of antigen recognition and breadth of protection, establishing a new strategy for broad‐spectrum ...
