Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Structural Metals and Alloys
Mechanical properties of polycrystalline structural metals and alloys are significantly affected by their microstructures including phase content, grain/subgrain sizes, grain boundary distribution, dispersed particles, dislocation density, etc.[...]

Flexible aromatic disulfide monomers for high-performance self-healable linear and cross-linked poly(urethane-urea) coatings [PDF]
Implementation of the self-healing concept in coatings is challenging because they have to combine mechanical strength and chain mobility. This challenge is addressed in this work by studying the effect of the polymer microstructure on the mechanical ...

Mo6S6 nanowires: structural, mechanical and electronic properties [PDF]
The properties of Mo_6S_6 nanowires were investigated with ab-initio calculations based on the density-functional theory. The molecules build weakly coupled one-dimensional chains, like Mo_6Se_6 and Mo_6S_(9-x)I_x, and the crystals are strongly uniaxial in their mechanical and electronic properties.

Mechanical and Structural Properties of Maltodextrin/Agarose Microgels Composites
We present results from a new approach to the study of multicomponent gels, which allows independent investigation of the effect of phase volume and droplet size of the dispersed phase on the mechanical properties of the mixed gel composites.

Relaxation dynamics of Fe55Cr10Mo14C15B6 metallic glass explored by mechanical spectroscopy and calorimetry measurements [PDF]
In this work, the mechanical relaxation dynamics of Fe55Cr10Mo14C15B6 metallic glass is explored by mechanical spectroscopy. The temperature-dependent loss modulus E″(T) shows the features of β relaxation well below glass transition temperature Tg.

Structure and mechanical properties of fat crystal networks [PDF]
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses structural and mechanical properties of fat crystal networks. Lipids used as food are either in the form of constituents in foods such as milk, cheese, spreads, etc. or in the form of "visible" fats such as butter, lard, ghee, etc. Dietary lipids assume an important role in human nutrition.

Mechanical and Structural Properties of Fluorine-Ion-Implanted Boron Suboxide
Results on a systematic study on the effects of ion implantation on the near-surface mechanical and structural properties of boron suboxide (B6O) prepared by uniaxial hot pressing are reviewed. 150 keV fluorine ions at fluences of up to 5.0×1016 ions/cm2

Structural integrity of hierarchical composites [PDF]
Interface mechanical problems are of paramount importance in engineering and materials science. Traditionally, due to the complexity of modelling their mechanical behaviour, interfaces are often treated as defects and their features are not explored ...

Transient Mesenteric Ischemia Leads to Remodeling of Rat Mesenteric Resistance Arteries
Mesenteric ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) is associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. We studied the effect of mesenteric I/R on structural and mechanical properties of rat mesenteric resistance artery (MRA) that, once disrupted, might impact ...

Mössbauer study of nanodimensional nickel ferrite-mechanochemical synthesis and catalytic properties [PDF]
Iron-nickel spinel oxide NiFe2O4 nanoparticles have been prepared by the combination of chemical precipitation and subsequent mechanical milling. For comparison, their analogue obtained by thermal synthesis is also studied.
