On the random structure of behavioural transition systems
Numerous properties of random graphs are highly predictable. Even by exploring a small part reliable observations are possible regarding their structure and size. An unfortunate observation is that standard models for random graphs, such as the Erdös–Rényi model, do not reflect the structure of the graphs that describe distributed systems and protocols.

The effects of corrosion on seismic performance of reinforced concrete moment frames [PDF]
In recent years, evaluation of deterioration and aging effects on seismic performance assessment of existing reinforced concrete structures has been paid much attention in earthquake and structural engineering community due to economical and safety ...

Fire safety and fire protection objectives require that buildings and parts of buildings do not collapse during a fire. This requires that the load-carrying capacity is maintained to a minimum acceptable level during a fire. This chapter briefly describes the historical background and state of the art of fire resistance and its determination for timber

Structural Reasons for School Violence and Education Strategies
For the purposes of the research, we developed a concept of structural reasons that we theoretically assume appear as typical structural reasons for violence in schools.

The Temporal Structure of Behaviour and Sleep Homeostasis
The amount and architecture of vigilance states are governed by two distinct processes, which occur at different time scales. The first, a slow one, is related to a wake/sleep dependent homeostatic Process S, which occurs on a time scale of hours, and is reflected in the dynamics of NREM sleep EEG slow-wave activity.

Numerical Investigation of the Post-Fire Performance of Steel Columns
Research on the seismic performance of steel structures has led to the development of improved structures, which minimize structural and non-structural damage and can be reused immediately after an earthquake.

The structure of the brain and human behaviour
Currently, the state of knowing the structure and functionality of the human brain is a source of interest for many researchers. Despite the fact that there are significant advances in neurobiology, there is still a lack of information on neuroanatomy and neurophysiology that could shed a new look at interpersonal behavior.

Relevance of structural brain connectivity to learning and recovery from stroke
The physical structure of white matter fibre bundles constrains their function. Any behaviour that relies on transmission of signals along a particular pathway will therefore be influenced by the structural condition of that pathway.
