Seismic Behaviour of Lightweight Structures

Civil-Comp Proceedings, 2009
The selection of environmentally responsible building products and systems is a central aspect of sustainable building. Wood has been used as a building material for centuries. Wood is strong, lightweight, very easy to use and to manufacture into new products.

Insights on diplochromosome structure and behaviour

Chromosoma, 1981
Diplochromosomes from colchicine-induced endoreduplicated HeLa cells were analyzed by light and electron microscopy. The patterns of C-, G-, NOR-, and late replicating DNA-rich bands obtained clearly indicate that the four chromatids constituting a diplochromosome are structurally identical and behave the same, at least in terms of replication kinetics

A model of nucleolar structure and behaviour

Experientia, 1969

Dynamical Behaviour of Structured Macromolecular Solutions

Physics and Chemistry of Liquids, 1989
A large number of experimental results have shown that macromolelcules in solution give rise to ordered (thyxotropic) structures, a noticeable role being played by a dynamic correlation. In the present paper we develop a semi-phenomenological model that can be solved analytically.

Structural Behaviour of Reciprocal Structures

2013
The present paper focuses on the comparison of several two-dimensional and three-dimensional reciprocal configurations. The goal of such comparison is to analyse the structural behaviour when changing the geometric parameters used to describe the geometry of reciprocal structures.

System behaviour and computing structure

1990
The purpose of this work is of a methodological and conceptual nature. My aim is to comment some ideas about the relation between the double computational structure of a system (processors and processes) and the observable conduct as well as the amount of knowledge we need to inject to obtain a complete description of the system we are considering ...

The structure of sexual behaviour

Journal of Sex Research, 1992
In a national study of gay men's sexual behaviour in the context of HIV transmission, a schema was evolved for encoding and reporting the structure of sexual activity: the Sexual Behaviour Code (SBC). It has linguistic properties, is easily learned and employed, and generalizes easily to heterosexual behaviour.

On the structure of positive behaviours

International Journal of Control, 2001
Positive systems in the behavioural approach are introduced as sets of non-negative trajectories that satisfy a closure condition with respect to linear combinations with non-negative coefficients. Completeness and finite memory properties are discussed and compared with the analogous properties of linear shift invariant behaviours.

Expression and The Structure of Behaviour

2017
This paper is part of a workshop with Donald A. Landes on his book Merleau-Ponty and the Paradoxes of Expression. It summarises the ideas of Merleau-Ponty, and Landes' take on these, before offering some critical comments on Landes' chapter on 'The Structure of Behaviour'.

Market structure and behaviour

1978
The degree of monopoly or competition encountered by the buyer in supply markets varies considerably, and there are also wide variations in the way price is determined, and the extent to which it is subject to fluctuation. In this chapter we consider briefly the legal position as regards monopoly and restrictive practices; examine the elements of ...
