Information Structure Constraints
2009Large-scale systems require control laws whose computation is efficient, and whose implementation entails a minimal amount of information exchange between the subsystems. In order to design such laws, it is necessary to develop versatile algorithms that can incorporate a broad range of information structure constraints.

Sparse Estimation of Faults by Compressed Sensing With Structural Constraints
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2018This paper addresses the challenge of fault location in large power networks using a limited number of sensors. It was recently shown that power system faults may be modeled by sparse vectors, and hence, can be located efficiently using sparse recovery ...

Structural constraints on language
Reti, saperi, linguaggi, 2014Recently, in cognitive sciences the debate moved on from the analysis of the inner procedures of mental events to the analysis of the way the sapiens know and represent the world through the evolutionary and biological perspective. The biological approach to the study of human language implies a significant change to the way we can interpret language ...

Structural constraints on bimanual movements
Psychological Research, 1993A theoretical framework is outlined, according to which structural constraints on bimanual movements can at least in part be understood as coupling between parameters of generalized motor programs. This framework provides a conceptual link between reaction-time data from experiments with bimanual responses, successive unimanual responses, and choice ...

Information Structure Constraints
2007Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to show that the processing of information structure plays an important role with respect to constraints which have traditionally been viewed as syntactic constraints. The first section demonstrates that word order in simple sentences is constrained by the need to avoid an ambiguous parse of the ...

The problem of adaptive fuzzy control is investigated for a class of nontriangular structural stochastic switched nonlinear systems with full state constraints in this paper. A remarkable feature of the nontriangular structural nonlinear system is the so-

Processing Structural Constraints
2009When searching unstructured plain-text the user is limited in the expressive power of their query – they can only ask for documents that are about something. When structure is present in the document, and with a query language that supports its use, the user is able to write far more precise queries.

Constraint Analysis and Structure Identification
1976Recent developments in establishing a firm conceptual foundation for a systems methodology by Klir (1975) have revealed a differentiation of system definitions in the form of a hierarchy. This paper concentrates on a specific hierarchical level which is concerned with the structure identification problem. It is shown that the application of information
