Application of Landsat-8, Sentinel-2, ASTER and WorldView-3 Spectral Imagery for Exploration of Carbonate-Hosted Pb-Zn Deposits in the Central Iranian Terrane (CIT)

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
The exploration of carbonate-hosted Pb-Zn mineralization is challenging due to the complex structural-geological settings and costly using geophysical and geochemical techniques.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Streamflow Prediction at the Intersection of Physics and Machine Learning: A Case Study of Two Mediterranean‐Climate Watersheds

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Accurate streamflow predictions are essential for water resources management. Recent studies have examined the use of hybrid models that integrate machine learning models with process‐based (PB) hydrologic models to improve streamflow predictions.

Ferroelectric Phase Transitions from First Principles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
An effective Hamiltonian for the ferroelectric transition in $PbTiO_3$ is constructed from first-principles density-functional-theory total-energy and linear-response calculations through the use of a localized, symmetrized basis set of ``lattice Wannier

Pinning effect of lattice Pb suppressing lattice oxygen reactivity of Pb-RuO2 enables stable industrial-level electrolysis

open access: yesNature Communications
Ruthenium (Ru) is widely recognized as a low-cost alternative to iridium as anode electrocatalyst in proton-exchange membrane water electrolyzers (PEMWE). However, the reported Ru-based catalysts usually only operate within tens of hours in PEMWE because

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Structural Evolution of Small-Sized Phosphorus-Doped Boron Clusters: A Half-Sandwich-Structured PB15 Cluster

open access: yesMolecules
The present study is a theoretical investigation into the structural evolution, electronic properties, and photoelectron spectra of phosphorus-doped boron clusters PBn0/− (n = 3–17). The results of this study revealed that the lowest energy structures of

How a basement fault has controlled Pb- Zn ore deposition within the Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt? a focus on remote sensing approaches

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Remote Sensing, 2023
The Zagros fold and thrust belt as one of the structurally complex areas have been considered chiefly only for hydrocarbon reserves, despite having other mineral deposits like the Surmeh lead and Zinc mine.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...
