Stability and structure of clathrin

Biochemistry, 1984
The effects of urea on the dissociation and structural transitions of clathrin (8 S) have been evaluated by various techniques. The dissociation of the light chains in 3 M urea has been shown by light scattering, ultracentrifugation, and column chromatography.

On the stability of the A 15 structure

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1976
Abstract The pair potential model is applied to problems of thermodynamic stability involving the A 15 structure. Many such problems have been clarified and answered by this procedure. Among the problems considered are the stability of A 15V 3 Al and Nb 3 Si; the stability of Nb 3 ( M 1 , M 2 ) and V 3 ( M 1 , M 2 ) A 15 pseudobinary ...

Stabilization of protein structures

Current Opinion in Biotechnology, 1997
The technique of protein stabilization has been improving steadily in recent years, but it is only in the past year or two that the stability of some protein molecules has been improved to the level of those from extreme thermophilic organisms. This was achieved by multiple mutations and often by utilizing the knowledge gained from the homologous ...

FUZZINESS AND STRUCTURAL STABILITY

Kybernetes, 1981
The paper suggests a connexion between fuzziness and structural stability. This is illustrated by a classical decision model, viewed from the standpoint of the Catastrophe Theory.

Insulin Structure and Stability

1993
Insulin is composed of 51 amino acids in two peptide chains (A and B) linked by two disulfide bonds. The three-dimensional structure of the insulin molecule (insulin monomer), essentially the same in solution and in solid phase, exists in two main conformations.

Thermal stability and protein structure

Biochemistry, 1979
Amino acid sequences have been compared for thermophilic and mesophilic molecules of ferredoxin, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, and lactate dehydrogenase. It is shown that Gly, Ser, Ser, Lys, and Asp in mesophiles are generally substituted by Ala, Ala, Thr, Arg, and Glu, respectively, in thermophiles.

Structural stability and catastrophes [PDF]

open access: possibleEconomics Bulletin, 2012
We show that, in a pure exchange smooth economy, a redistribution of endowments involving singular economies can be supported by a unique and continuous path of supporting equilibrium price vectors if this redistribution is the projection of a path on the equilibrium manifold transversal to the set of critical equilibria.
